I kind of wish Miranda's romance plot didn't have a sex scene.
I kind of wish that it was just a cutscene of them cuddling together or falling asleep on the couch or something. Call me sappy but I'm a sucker for it. :/

The scene was incredibly well done. While it was the most.. "steamiest" of the scenes, it also had a lot of things in it that would appeal to the 'sappy' crowd, if you will.
In the beginning, when Shepard approaches Miranda - the tummy scene and the following scene where Shepard rests his chin on her should and the nuzzle cheeks speaks volumes about the passion they have for each other.
The following portion - when they get down to the dirty dirty - is the portion of the scene that shows that they realize that this might possibly be their last night together... and for two people who believe they have found their equal, they want to get the most out of it.

Hmm thats interesting Toshi, I concur to a degree. It would have been cool to see something similar to pyro's idea or a scene that wasn't as lustful maybe and a little more uhhh

I mean they have the tummy scene which is kinda like cuddling and then Miranda takes over.

@Toshi - Curious.. why do you think that?
Well, I guess it's mostly that I'm tired of this whole thing where every ME romance is a sex scene right before the big, "holy crap were gonna die" finale. I'm really heavily considering breaking off the Miranda romance for my main Shepard at the part where she says the "What idiotic bunch of hormones..." line. I suppose it's not really that I wish the option wasn't there, it's just I want a nice way around it. I'm afraid that if I break the romance off at that point, even though it's clear there's feelings for each other, ME 3 will kind of treat as though I didn't romance her at all. Then again, I may be pleasantly surprised.
I sort of feel like having them both feel for each other, but they've agreed to put it aside sort of gives Shepard something to look forward to in the future, and more drive to make it out of the base alive. I wish there was a way to kind of reinitiate the romance after breaking it off. I mean, Miranda breaks it off several times, and changes her mind several times too. Why can't Shepard?

This is probably the best break down of that scene I have read. Some people seem to think it is merely a fling but I think there is a lot more there that will be explored much more in-depth in ME3.Rathias0114 wrote...

I'm wondering if you can still call her up to your quarters and cuddle with her.

Also, I'm pretty sure I will be breaking off my Miranda romance in my main export to ME3 playthrough. The way I see it, if Miranda is recruitable, it will likely only be if she was loyal to you, that way she'll be able to refer to her loyalty mission. The whole exchange at the point that I'm planning to break it off really implies that it will be addressed in ME 3.
My Shepard is anti-social. I can't just rush him into this whole "romance" thing.

i went the "friends?" route. you can't carry on after the suicide mission...at least there's ms. chambers.

But Shepard's reasoning is beyond preposterous. "Miranda...this won't work, we're too much alike" etc etc.

Yeah, I have finished the game with this outcome in the Miranda romance. I've never had Chambers as my company, though. Honestly, I don't even call her Kelly.
Funny tidbit: I almost wrote "the Chambers".

I did it once, just to see what happens. But I saved right before doing it so I just reloaded it. It's not much really, she gets a sad look on her face and says "Oh...I'm sorry to hear that..."

Yeah. I laughed at Shepard's reasoning there. I was like "Wow. Smooth, Shepard."
I'm talking about a convo earlier than that, though. I actually find it more satisfying than completing the romance plot, because I like how it sort of draws out their relationship development a lot more. The "Friends?" option is the only way you can break up but while admitting that you want to be with her.

here are some from my last insanity playthrough.

Gotcha!

He probably would have made the jump if he didnt have the heavier weapons on him like the Machine Gun and the Cain but it was nice seeing Miranda returning the favor and pulling him back up.
And mission complete!

I would say Miri is cute too though. I also place cute above beautiful. There is no such thing as "cold" cuteness.
And all these people trying break Miri's heart... shame on you!

Hey! I'm not trying to break her heart! I just think the whole Miranda romance plot might be more fulfilling if I stretch it across both games. I'm trying to choose the option that suggests that Shepard is interested, but wants to wait for a bit.
I've pretty much decided this what I'm going to do. If Bioware doesn't address this path you can take, I will be quite disappointed.
