I have a few main Shepards: Chris with Ash. Chris that lost Ash and fell for Miri (my fic is actually based off this), Kya with Liara, and Erica with Kelly. I have other shepards, but these are my main one. I actually am growing more fond of the paragonned, romanced Jack. But then her character finally blossoms and shows depth in those scenes whereas she was the stereotypical **** before it.



I don't mind ****es, but I like for them to be more than "look at me, I'm a bad ass woman who hates everything".

i found if i didnt delete Ashs email it helped alittle staying loyal but it is so hard to just ingore Miranda

That's exactly like one of my Shepard's. It's a shame you couldn't really cement your relationship with Ash before Virmire, I don't think the game actually recognizes that you lost a love interest if you leave her. I guess that's where really role-playing your character in your head comes in handy.

I too started a loyal to Ashley playthrough...I don't know if I'll be able to not romance her, one way to find out I suppose...

That makes 3 of us, well when I start that playthrough anyway I just finished one yesterday so I'm gonna take a break from ME2 for a minute. plus I usually end up tweaking my Shep multiple times before I start playing which means going through the un-skippable cut scene like 5 times before I'm happy with how Shep looks.

BTW thanks andy  just had a moment where I felt like one of the "Bad apples" I spose'

Hey, I romanced Liara too. We can talk about her if you like? Although I didn't care for her as much as Ash so I don't know how much good I'll be in a conversation, lol.

It's a shame you couldn't really cement your relationship with Ash before Virmire, I don't think the game actually recognizes that you lost a love interest if you leave her. I guess that's where really role-playing your character in your head comes in handy.

You can get it to the point where it is "checked" basically.  The only thing that doesn't happen is the cabin scene or the hall scene when the Normandy is locked down.  But both Ash and Shepard basically admit their feelings in the last normal scene.

Hey, if it makes you feel better, my main Shep was with Liara, I actualy had to download a save from the internet to get a Shep who fell for Ash but also saved the council. On my first playthrough on ME1 I did fall for Ash but killed the council (Turian @SS) and that was my only Ash as a LI Shep.

My main Shep is a colony kid, who overcame his chilhood loss of his parents at the Skilyian Blitz, fell for Liara, lost Kayden at Virmire and saved the council. In ME2, he grew distant from Liara as he saw how much she has changed into a cold person, no longer the person he knew. And finaly he fell in love with a women to equel him....Miri!

Oh and he blew up the base...because my Shep is a soldier and thats what they do...

What was wired for me was the diologue lines for Shep when speaking to Ash / Council vs speaking to Garrus / Tali.

When speaking to Ash / Council, Shep almost defends his Cerberus connection, where when he speaks to Garrus/ Tali he states clearly that he is not with them and is only using their resources.

I don't think it would have made a diference with Ash though, her reaction was true to form. "I'm Alliance, it's in my blood"

In my Ash fic, I will be tweaking those scenes. I know it sometimes isn't kosher to do so, but it really wasn't completely in character for Ash or for Chris. Ash needed to come off as more emotionally confused and then angry and Shepard needed to have the option to yell after her when she turns away then mouth off into the comm in real anger.

Argh that line just irritates me. After saving her ass on Eden Prime, not Virmire-ing her and her becoming my Sheps ME1 LI, she still can't trust Shepard. *grumble grumble* Too much head up arse for my liking. Makes me wonder if she was ever truly loyal to Shepard or just following orders by being assigned to the Normandy.

Want to make a note on Ch 4. It got split into two chapters. I was going to do the whole tutorial run in one chapter, but I felt it was getting a bit long and broke it into two chapters, especially since the last half not only deals with the Shepard and Miri actually meeting for the first time (conscoius for Shep anyway), but it will play around with Miri's irritation that becomes clear in the game. I felt it was too important to get lost in a long slog of reading.



I know some take it in bits and also scrolling through a long page is a bit irritating.
