My one gripe with that site, aside from the downtime, is that I have to sacrifice some formatting. I have to write their thoughts differently since italics is a bit of a chore to put in. I have to be careful to make sure it reads correctly so people don't get jumbled up.

The game does recognize it. There's an ME1 flag "romance X" and a ME1 romance counter for X which says how far the romance has progressed until the end of ME1. I think the flag means "romance with X completed", and it can be set for only one character, but there can be different romance counters for different potential LI characters, somewhere between 0 and 4 IIRC, with 5 indicating a completed romance and a 6 either broken off or impossible because of gender preferences. If you let your LI die on Virmire, there's still the romance counter set to something else than 0. Whether these flags will be transferred to ME3, and whether they will be used, that's another question.andysilv87 wrote...

That's exactly like one of my Shepard's. It's a shame you couldn't really cement your relationship with Ash before Virmire, I don't think the game actually recognizes that you lost a love interest if you leave her. I guess that's where really role-playing your character in your head comes in handy.

Hmm...it's interesting that they track it. It would've been nice to talk to Miranda about having to leave Ash behind, especially since Shepard was facing the possibility of having to do the same with her if the suicide mission went awry.
