It doesn't have to tie back into saving the galaxy, it just has to occupy a significant portion of the narrative. I really don't want a "choose your lover or x"... that would ****** me off. I would never, ever choose x.
The only reason I Virmired Ash for the Mirishep run was because I built up the lore. Ash and Chris loved eachother, but it wasn't the true love of soul mates, so he chose duty. I also knew that Miri was there and that that Shepard's true love would strike soon. I could never choose to sacrifice true love though. The world would burn.
Well, as long as it's done tastefully and right, it doesn't matter to me how they do choose to handle it in the end.
As for your set up, sounds good. Mine isn't anywhere near as tasteful, I just couldn't bring myself to Virmire Ash in any of my playthroughs. I'm currently working on one now where I plan to do so.
Now I have to go. So everyone have a great day.
Edit: Oh and hi Kleskus.

Hello everybody, wass up?
Pining at the slow boards... working on chapter 5, watching Farscape, and realising I have to go out today into the big bad real world!
I'm going to pick up some wings, pay off my preorder for FFXIII, then go out at midnight and pick up the game! I should probably strive to get ch 5 out the door by then, but I don't want to rush it. The emotional interplay starts picking up and I have to be careful.

Just came back from shopping, etc, and I'm going to play Mass Effect 2 - finally! Ekhm, truly - don't have anything else fancy to play, maybe Doom 3 - but no - can play only at night, love atmosphere.
Anyway, I hate winter! I would like to go ride my bike, but there is so cold and there is snow, not nice. Just have to wait until it melts and there will be hmm 15'C or more... Can't wait for this!

Yep, snowy winters are so cool. Here where I live (South Africa) it just rains in winter.

I was born in Italy, live further south in Sicily a bit later, lived in Illinois briefly, Virginia, Japan, New Mexico, South Carolina, and Florida.
I want to live in a cold mountainous region, with a nice forest and lake. Though Australia has a certain... appeal.

Simply put, no. The romance should not be the focus of ME3 or occupy a significant portion of the game. It just wouldn't make any sense. The whole point of the trilogy is to stop the reapers and not having that goal be at least 80% of ME3's plot would be utter moronic.Kabraxal wrote...

While I wouldn't like a 'choose LI or whatever' decision either simply because the LI would lose. "I could never choose to sacrifice true love though." The fate of the galaxy is more important and even your quote fits this... simply because I couldn't sacrifice everyone elses chance at true love just to save my own.Kabraxal wrote...

I don't think Miranda would even allow you to choose her over the galaxy.

While the save the galaxy storyline is good, it isn't enough for me. I have no reason to save the galaxy without the romance.
As for the choosing the greater good over love. We'll just be on opposite sides. The world is just a bunch of strangers to me. My love is my reason for being.

It's slow in here, but other than that it's been good. We actually had a lot of discussion to spite those mocking our silliness. They missed out!
Not if I can help it!
I have to say I'm with gutty about the LI tying to the main storyline. The main plot should be pretty much the same, other than maybe a few scenes in the endgame. I remember talking about how awesome a kiss goodbye would have been if Miranda had to go lead one of the fire teams. I'm talking that kind of stuff, nothing crazy like "YOU MUST CHOOSE! Miranda or the Citadel?!" (I know you didn't say this Kab, just saying my opinion.
I don't think that people who don't romance anyone should lose out on a significant amount of content, and not really any main story content. There has to be some people out there who never had any of the potential LIs grow on them, and they should still get an awesome story. I remember one guy saying his Shepard was 100% focused on his mission. Kind of boring if you ask me, but it's his character.
Integration with the main storyline should be part of the love plots, but it shouldn't be a big part of the game. Your romance plot should be affected by the main storyline, not the other way around.

Moderately pissed off first thing this morning but better now, apart from being a little cold that is. Still, a cup of tea ought to fix the heat issue!Maviarab wrote...
