Like I mentioned last night - I'm done with this thread. For those who follow my fanfiction, hope you subscribed, because unless Meg wants to start posting links to the new chapters - I'm not.

You know... I must have been pretty foolish to think we could have voiced our opinions without being attacked for it later. I have to say, I agree with Rath though. I'm not abandoning this thread completely - yet. I'm taking a few days away to see if the maturity level goes up a notch or two, however. And for those of you who say Rath or I or anyone else who decides to stay away is being unreasonable, maybe you should look at what's been posted.


1) Quite a few of us agreed that 5+ pages of OT tasteless humor was going a bit overboard and asked that it be kept to a minimum. We never said "no OT discussions from here on out". I guess some people don't understand the concept of moderation?

2) If you think we asked for the discussions to be cut back a bit solely for our benefit, you're mistaken. It's also for people who visit this thread. I feel embarrassed knowing they sometimes have to go back 20 pages just to find one discussion on Miri in the midst of crude humor. Especially when they dare to post in the midst of that humor and get completely ignored. What's the point of this thread then?

3) I agree we can't talk about Miranda all of the time. In order to keep it alive we have to go OT sometimes, but that's another point. This isn't a competition. We aren't going to catch up with the Tali thread and even if we did, what does it prove?  Also, if we have to resort to 3/4 of our thread being completely OT, how does that benefit Miranda as a character? 

And for those of you who think I'm being whiny, so be it. You won't have to deal with me after this post. I really thought this had been resolved yesterday, but then posts like this-

No one (that I'm aware of) had called it a "war" before that point. I know I certainly thought all of our problems had been resolved, but if some people want to be childish about it, then that's fine. They can continue to do so, but I won't be a part of it.

And Darth, just so you don't think this is a subtle slap in the face, I'll be direct. I spent most of the evening on here last night and we had no problems that I can remember. The atmosphere in the thread was really great, in fact. We discussed Miranda in seriousness. We got a bit silly inbetween, which actually led to a good idea about Miranda being spawned. We kept the OT talk to a minimum, but no one complained, the thread continued on a nice pace and everyone was getting along really well. Then you got on (after I left, might I add) and started making derogatory comments about the people who requested less OT discussions be had. If you weren't the OP, I might not care as much, but if anything, you should be wanting us to stay OT and get along more than anyone. Instead you spark disagreements and fuel the flame of a fire that had already been put out.

I still love and support Miranda, and I will regardless of what happens in here. Maybe I'll have to stick to posting in the group forum from now on. But I will not stick around here and be called "Killjoy Police", among other things, simply for voicing my opinion. I'm sorry for getting so negative and defensive. Most of you know that I'm usually very light-hearted. I simply refuse to sit here and be attacked for no reason. I hope the majority of you will understand. Feel free to PM me if you have something to say or think there is anything I should know. Hopefully I'll see you all in a few days. If not, it's been fun.

Actually watching that second one got me to thinking, why couldn't they have added some 'party member' romances to the ME series, would've been nice. They kind of did it for BG, would be nice to see party members getting together me thinks.

Perhaps leaving isn't the best idea...ignoring those that cause the problem seems like a better solution. If two good folks leave it almost makes it seem like the people causing the problem got what they wanted? Eh, either way it really sucks that this happened.

If she had, she would have activated it to keep him away when they started to get close. It was Shep's persistance that finally broke her down.

Yep, however, I suspect given the Shep Charisma, the roles might have reversed/been equalised fairly soon afterwards...

Very true, she would have told him if they implanted him with one. She doesn't seem like one to mince words so she would tell it like it is.

I seriously want a mission where you have to go rescue Oriana.

Am I cruel for being curious about what would happen if we didn't get to her in time? Might be a character development chance, but damn I would feel heartbroken for Miri.
