Not much I just got off work and wanted to see how the Miranda thread was running.



I see there are new banners to show support for Miranda and I must say they are lovely.

Yeah, the one Meg did is really cool...I like the space background. We had a couple of interesting discussions today...I'm still at damn work



I will hopefully have that Shepard and Miranda painting either tonight or by the end of this week so I can actually contribute something nice to this thread (aside from my always welcome opinions ><)

Thought experiment time. Miranda comes back as a recruitable squaddie. What does her character arc look like, with and without the romance? How much is whether she resigned going to affect her in-game personality?

Not just of Miranda, it should have a tender scene with Miranda and Shepard.

And for those of you wondering, the new heavy weapon the Arc Cannon is really cool and best for taking out groups of enemies. It is most effective against synthetics.

Hmm...

If romanced she'll probably be trying and keep her personal relationship  with Shepard seperate from her duties as best as she can. Most likely getting ready as much as possible for the Reapers and hopefully there will be more missions involving the story of her sister and father.  And if she resigned then she'll probably be trying to get used to not having to always report to TIM.

If not romanced. The same things as if romanced except the keeping things seperate.

With the romance and the base blown up: I see her opening up more to Shepard, the final barriers are pulled down and we get to see a lot more of her vulnerable side. TiM is extremely pissed off at her resignation despite having her sister as a bargaining chip. He is also upset that Shepard told him to go jump into an exploding sun. I see part of her story dealing with her father as we talked about earlier, but also dealing with Cerberus and TiM. She now knows that Cerberus IS responsible for most of the atrocities that she denied before and not some splinter cells using Cerberus' "good" name. Remember that according to EDI TiM keeps a small ammount of active cells so that he can personally oversee them all. Her and Jack (if still alive) come to terms. She can also play a vital role in helping Shepard unite the galaxy against the Reapers.

I gotta think about the rest of this, also some of my ideas may change with time...but this is what just came off the top of my head.

How far along are you in ME1? What decisions have you made so far? At the moment I'm at the part where I have to go see Harkin about recruiting Garrus with my new playthrough. Haven't had that much time to play during the week, but I think I'll have it beat this weekend.

with romance... of course she still on the ship as my XO as truthful i really cant picture having anyone else for that job and have the backbone Miranda does to voice her throughts and if even need to stand up to Shepard, in the romance seeing more and more of her past, alittle bit more of her softer side and just a good finsih to it with in the main story that makes sense to both Shepard and Miranda

without romance...still the XO on the ship maybe she ended up joining the alliance or something like that

for both dealing with no longer in Cerberus and how that affects her life, maybe dealing with keeping her sister safe and dealing with her father

Yeah, that would be sweet same with a picture pack of Miranda to use as my gamer picture on xbox live.

Not that I know of, but then again I only have the 360 version so don't take that as fact.

Well, I finished the Noveria mission last night. And I only have Virmire and Illos left to do. As for the decisions I have made, well I've been influencing Garrus down the renegade path, I was rude to Conrad, gave the evidence to Emily Wong, convinced Lorik Qu'inn to testify, and I'm probably going to nuke Ash on Virmire. These are just the ones I can think off the top of my head.
 
Also I'm keeping my Shepard single so I don't have to worry about going into ME2 and cheating on anyone when I begin to romance Miranda.

No, I don't think there is one...yet. But, I'm not quite sure if it's possible at all. I wouldn't be able to use it anyway since I have the 360 version of ME2.

I plan to have my Shepard romance Ashley, but then letting her die on Virmire for the sake of the mission. I think having lost a "love" would add a bit more depth to him willing to try again with Miranda. I dunno if that makes sense. What I can't decide on is if I'm going to save the Rachni Queen...Oh, and I'm killing the Batarian terrorist on X57 and letting the hostages die for certain reasons which might be revealed if I'm ever not lazy and get around to writing that fic. Funny, I have the plot drafted in Word, but I can't seem to get past this writer's block I've had for the past 2+ weeks.

your going to nuke ash? my shepard may have to cry alittle for ash could never bring myself to do it she was eighter my ME1 romance or my bestfriend on the ship when didnt romance

We had a nice discussion on what to do when/if we finally got to settle things with Miranda's father. And I think we are now discussing how we see her story arc play out in ME3. Look at jtav's post for more info on that.

Nah, it makes perfect sense. I WAS going to begin to romance her and then nuke her, but I just decided to keep things professional amongst my crew. And now that you reminded me of the Rachni, yea I set them free. And I'm going to guess the terrorist Batarian was part of that DLC I never got around to purchasing..lol.

Yea, I'm going to nuke her. I've never nuked her in any of my other 6 playthroughs. I've always romanced her. But, as I said I want to keep things "guilt" free for my Shepard when he begins to romance Miranda.
