If I where Shepard and had to pick an XO it would be Miranda. She's proven she can be hard and would be an excellent reality-check for the sometimes very blue-eyed paragon Shepard, and she didn't loose 11 men of her team to some mercs on Omega :P

Don't diss Garrus, that was not his fault. He was lured out by a false lead, the same can be said for Shepard since he left the ship and the whole crew (expect for Joker) was taken.

I like Miranda a lot. I just wish they made her a little less cold-blooded. She seems a little too ready to kill.

But...I love her veneer of business and professionalism. She does not crack when jack goes ape**** on her in the office. She does not deign to respond to the sophomoric pejoratives that jack spits at her.

Even if jack could kick her butt (I suspect she might be able to do so) I think Miranda would be far cooler by not giving jack the satisfaction of showing pain or defeat.

Props to you guys for picking a cool character.

Hiya Governator! Nice to see a respectful fan of another character in here.

I give you if it was just a biotic to biotic fight Jacks got more power but half of fighting is using your head and being smart, and well Miranda hands down got way more of that over Jack, be a nice fight i guess but the longer it go Miranda would win

As for cold hearted never got that impression she was but i get people that do, she profession and bussiness like doing things sometimes that she thinks need to be done to get the job done, ive said it before some of the cold hearted stuff that people things she does or says, is a guard to protect herself from others(i mean Shepard), again the beginning "ice queen" she gives Shepard i believe is from giving two years of her life to him and being unsure of how he react to her and cerberus as he was a alliance solider and most of alliance hate all ceberus

Welcome to the thread, Governator. Always good to see fans of other characters willing to get to know her and not dismiss her outright.

@kaidy: Yeah, I don't get why we can't dance with her. Though I would choose Darkstar, which she seems to like.

Also, Garrus is a good leader, but Miranda is better and much more experienced. All those years leading Cerberus cells paid off.

And with that I have to leave again. Be well, people.:)

Garrus is presented with many good qualities, but even though he's presented as a natural leader choice in the game I think his nature is too brooding and individualistic to be a functional leader. I don't know, if I wanted to send them on a mission as squadleaders I think I would be less worried about Miranda keeping the squad together and on target than Garrus.

All she had going against her was the fact that she could've been perceived as a Cerberus broiler by the other members of the squad. But after omega4 that's a non-issue unless you're a true Renegade.

In regards to the "I love you" discussion, I could see Miranda saying it in her own way, but not necessarily those exact words. You know how some people have their own little phrase that means, "I love you" when they say it to each other? I could see easily see them doing that.

Something i could never understand is who in the squard doesnt trust Miranda?  Jack sure but thats doesnt count come on. Garrus Tali? maybe sure but if Shepard trusts her the so would they as they are blindly loyal to Shepard and would never agrue with him. Thane Samara? Thane doesnt care hes thier to do the job and make sure people live even if it costs his life, Samara even states if asked she respects Miranda. Grunt Jacob? Do i even need to explain Jacob, and Grunt is maybe even more loyal to Shepard then Garrus or Tali and what Shepard says he do plus he just wants to kill. Zaeed Mordin? Zaeed cares only for money she why he care who leads, Mordin to smart to bugged with trust after fighting aside someoen for so long. Legion? If the math said Miranda was the best choice to lead a team he follow the math.

Miri simply hugging Shepard is more than enough.  She isn't predisposed to such open displays of affection, so it means more from her.

The only thing I can come up with as a substitute for "I love you" would be Shepard telling Miranda to call him by his first name.

Yeah that is pretty awkward that the LI can never call Shepard by his/her first name.

The only thing I can think of is something like Miranda is about to say it and Shepard cuts her off with, "You don't need to say it." It's a bit cliche but it could work before the big final battle...maybe? Could even be a paragon interrupt. That way, those of us who want to hear her say "I love you" will be happy, and those who don't want to hear it will be too.

If she could, I would be changing my Shepard's name to "Jacob" just because I love the way she says that.

Also, what Chuck spoiler were you talking about earlier, Valmy? PM me with it, please.:)

What I meant was, like a code phrase, of sorts. You know how on Chuck, Bryce would say to Sarah, "It hurts to say goodbye"? That was like his way of saying, "I love you." And on the movie Ghost, Demi Moore would tell Patrick Swayze "I love you" and he would reply with, "Ditto." I could see them having some secret phrase that would seem completely random or meaningless to anyone who heard it, but mean a great deal to the both of them.

Maybe I'm just crazy though.

So, finished my second Shepard+Miranda playthrough. Regarding them, I got the perfect ending:

First this:

Then this:

And at last:

Otherwise, the ending wasn't so perfect. I didn't exactly know who was good as fire team leader except Garrus (who I picked last time) and Miranda (who was in my own squad), so I picked Zaeed - and Tali died. One would've thought one who lead a mercenary company would do better. Too bad, but I don't think I'll replay it. Too perfect otherwise.

Now at last I can play my femShep Infiltrator....

Ah, and Joker says "sh*t!" twelve times in his mission.
