Maybe Miranda doesn't like people who use her sister for potentially nefairious reasons or best friends who sell her out? Just sayin'....

I kind of want to write a fanfic about the route I'm taking with Miranda. Maybe more a short story. Like, only a page or two.

But ok.

Some pages back, I posted some speculation about what might have provoked her to do that. It involved a father using any means possible to shape his daughters into the people he wanted them to be.

As for shooting one's friends: who but a friend can ever betray you? And what will you do if it happens to you?

There is a context to those events.

That's like saying a soldier who killed an enemy soldier during combat commited murder. It's not, because they're in a war. There's a context that changes the meaning of the event.

Nothing happens in a vaccum. It's clear you understood nothing about the whole situation.

Ok.What right does she have to decide what is the best for her sister?
That friend "solds" her out because she wasnt honest to him and dont explained what she did.

She stole her for a reason, to help her and her best friend betrayed her I sure as hell would be conflicted about doing the same thing. Regarding the control chip, yeah its obvious she doesn't trust Shepard at the beginning, but that changes quickly.
Hmm lets see you want to give classified data of an organization that she works for to a psychopath... yes she would really love that idea wouldn't she...

What right did her father have? Especially if he potentially had bad intentions?

So what right does her father have to decide how she should be too? At least Miranda kidnapped her so she could have a chance at a normal life.

How is she any different from CPS taking a child out of a dangerous environment? Except in their case, they can only speculate that a child will be in harm's way or won't be raised properly, whereas Miranda has already lived through what her father has planned for Oriana. She knows exactly what she'll go through and is therefore informed enough to make a rational decision.

And maybe she omitted the fact that she rescued her sister, but it was never stated that she directly lied about it. When Niket found out, he had every opportunity to at least ask her about it, but he didn't. He drew his own conclusions based on what her father said and ultimately sold her out. And don't try to defend Niket and say he did what he thought was best. If that were true, he wouldn't have had to be paid off in order to do it.

Oh, I see. You're one of those people with control issues ( like Cartman and his "authoritah" ), who want everyone to fawn over how awesome their character is and obey them blindly.

As I said in a reply to your post, if you had actually bothered to read, I liked Miranda from the start because of her line about the control chip. Shows she's honest and straightforward, doesn't pretend to be something she's not.

As for questioning Shepard's decisions, that's something that as second in command she has a right to do.

PS: Well put, Meg.

Well, considering she went through the exact same thing that her sister was about to go through, and it was so bad that she decided to run off, not to mention shots were fired when she left...I'd say she was in the right to remove her sister from that situation.  We've actually had this conversation before in this thread.

As for her friend selling her out, she should have let him in on what she was doing, and she obviously made a mistake.

Edit: Meg beat me to it, and stated it much better.

Parents have the right to raise her children....

Would any court allow to take away a child because her father has high requirements and restrict her social life? No.

Some christians dont let her children go to school and do home schooling.Did any court take her children away from them? No.Only her sister herself has the right to decide what is the best for her when reaching the right age.

I usually take the paragon route and make every effort to discuss whatever issue they have with Miranda in a non-confrontational way - but enough is enough. Not even trying to have a rational conversation, and instead blatantly and thoughtlessly dissing her? Nah uh. Not in this thread.

Besides, I love the smell of burnt troll in the morning.

Uhhhh its more than "high requirements" and "restrictive social life"

Considering he also kills off the "failed subjects" I'd take a shot at freedom...
