Yes, at a time when the damage has been done. You're arguing that parents have the right to do anything to their child.

As for religious fundamentalists: I support the current law in my country which doesn't allow home-schooling for exactly this reason: to prevent religious (and political) crackpots from ruining their children! Education is one thing, indoctrination another!

The only thing that makes it all a bit unclear is that we don't know exactly what Mirandas Father did.

Indeed. She was acting out of impulse and emotion. She was pissed that her friend betrayed her.

She regrets it later, if you don't stop her.

We have no idea how her father planned to raise either of them. Considering he grew them with the sole intention of carrying on his "perfect" legacy, I hardly think his fatal flaws were "high requirements" and being overly strict.

It's also plainly stated by Miranda that when she decided to leave, "shots were fired".

Teenagers can be emancipated, so it's should have been her choice if she decided to leave. And if a parent so much as spanks a child now days, there's a good chance the child will be taken away. I would hardly look at the fact that he would rather wound (maybe even kill) her than let her leave an example of him being a "good father".

She did it for the safety of her sister. Niket was the only person who know about her sister and her whereabouts. She would not risk that getting into her father's hands, and Miranda was pissed at that moment because the only friend she ever had in her life betrayed her. Would I personally do it? No.

I used the paragon interrupt and she agrees that it's better to let him go. Even if you do let her shoot him, she feels horrible afterwards.

He betrayed her. Her emotions got the better of her. If you stop her, she thanks you later for it, as she would have deeply regretted it.

"Emancipated? Don't you like being a dude?" - I know I quote Homer Simpson too often, but we needed some comic relief.

(And yes, I'm aware that Meg isn't a dude, I just quoting for the laughs)

I don't debate that. She acted emotionally and if you don't stop her, it's something that she deeply regrets later. However, have any of you been placed in a situation even remotely like that? It's easy to judge when we have no idea what that feels like or how we would act.

Then why should her Father be trying to take her back when she's already that age (being she's 19)?

As soon as Miranda said "I'm not the first one he made, just the first one he kept", any hint of sympathy I had for her father was gone. He was clearly an evil b****** in my eyes after that.

Lol. I wonder if Miranda would appreciate Simpsons humor. Sadly, I can't see it.

Time for a topic change, I think.

I am profoundly grateful that Miranda is older than Shepard and is roughly. About half the Bioware romances really squick me because 1) the PC is in a position of authority over the LI 2) the LI is significantly younger/less mature than the PC or 3) the LI is so psychologically damaged that the PC ends up being therapist more than lover. It doesn't feel ethical to romance them because the ability to say no is compromised.

But Miranda? She's an adult who is DEALING with her issues. She might be Shepard's XO but, since her real superior is TIM, it comes off as more of a rlationship between partner than commanding officer/subordinate.

Note to self: don't bring up consent issues in the main forum (Though I really appreciate Toshi defending me)

Agreed. I did the paragon interruption and chose not to shoot him.

Its also indoctrinition if christians took their childs into chirch and make them pray before eating.Where is the right border?

The only thing that makes it all a bit unclear is that we don't know exactly what Mirandas Father did.

I only heared something about not having friends and high requirements.Nowwhere was stated that her father killed the "failed " childs.
Maybee he give them away for adoption.

Or a better question, what Simpsons character would she be? (I once did a Simpsons character quiz...apparently I'm Lisa Simpson...Posted Image)

Completely agree. That's one of many reasons the Miranda romance really resonated with me. It was more of an equal partnership than any of the other LIs and I think Bioware conveyed that really well.
