Then make the happy ending, as you progress your story.

Aw, jtav. Don't feel that way. I'm sure the end result will be worth the difficulties you faced in writing it.

I kind of know what you feel, if it's an consolation. I'm having a really hard time writing part of mine and Rath's fanfic atm for some of the same reasons you are, I think. Although instead of making me feel like scum, it's just making me ridiculously depressed.

Alright, my day has been kinda dull with exception to Buffalo Wild Wings and The Pacific. Watching it now, since there aren't commercials I might not post much.

I was hoping to salvage the relationship in a sequel, but Miranda has turned surprisingly venomous.

Sorry for the double post, but what, besides murder, could the mastermind of Akuze be charged with? I cut the physical violence, but these two are making up for it verbally.

First thing that came to mind was to look up the Nuremberg Trials for some inspiration. Crimes against humanity and whatnot.
And hi everyone.

"Well, isn't that refreshing?" He turned back to face her. "You suggest developing illegal biological weaponry, send it up the chain of command of a terrorist organization, and then you complain about who those terrorists test it on. I was wrong; you are stupid. How you managed to bring me back to life I will never understand. Tell me, what's the real reason you're in charge? Did the Illusive Man think I'd want to **** you so badly that I'd do anything you said? I've got to hand it to him. It almost worked."

Miranda recoiled. So much for him being different from the rest. He would mock her just as cruelly as Jack. No, it was worse. He knew her, knew how hard it had been for that trust him with her insecurities and how much it mattered that he had valued her as a person. And he had thrown it back in her face. Two could play at that game. "Believe what you want. It wouldn't be the first time I've seduced a hypocritical ingrate for information. I'll be happy to provide a list."

His fist clenched. "Shut up."

The barb had hit home. Score one for male vanity. "That's how I started in Cerberus: sleeping with people for information or to blackmail them. Sometimes I even pretended to be in love. Did you think that you were special?" Half true. She had made her reputation with honey traps, but her orders for Project Lazarus were merely to assist, observe, and report. Not that he deserved to know that. "And this wasn't my fault, in any case I only made suggestions."

"Always trying to evade responsibility. You are the real Cerberus." His tone was suddenly brisk and official. "But for you, there would have been know massacre on Akuze. Let's see, that's forty-nine counts of manslaughter at the very least, war crimes, and destruction of military property. Possibly treason. I'm still a Spectre. I should arrest you." He shook his head. "No, your kind never get justice."

"You're wrong, Shepard," said Toombs quietly. "They do if we kill them."

Concrit welcome. I was going to attempt to salvage the relationship in a sequel, but that may be impossible now.

Ouch. Harsh. Well-written though. As much as I hate to see them like this, I think you might be right about their inability to reconcile in a sequel. Although, I wouldn't write it off completely.

And Ron Livingston. They're both great, and particularly in BoB.

This.
If you stick with this route it would be difficult to believe that they would stay together. Not impossible but difficult. I'm sure you can pull it off though.

I could see a scenario where they break off any sort of attachment to one another in this story and then something big happens that brings them together again in the next one. I suppose it's a bit cliche, but it's believable and a very useful plot device.

I could see that happening. Like during Samara's loyalty mission where Shepard is trying to lure out Morinth. And sure it might be cliche, but cliches work if you're innovative.

I was thinking of a "shoe is on the other foot" situation. Shepard sold the Cerberus info to the Shadow Broker and batarian terrorist cell uses the info to create thorian creepers and rachni to terrorize the world where Oriana is staying. Shepard and Miranda find themselves do their best to save the colony and her.

That would be interesting to see, but I'm not sure if that could happen so quickly. By the time you do Miranda's loyalty mission you're about halfway through the game. I figure that TIM would keep that information from her to keep her focused on the mission and especially when she defects.
