I actually don't mind the trolls. They bump the thread and give us something to discuss. Maybe it's only because I'm so comfortable and secure in my Miranda loooove that I know there probably isn't anything anyone could say to convince me to change my mind about her.

This. :wizard:

Also, don't forget that she will "probably live half as long again as the average human"so 35 to her probably isn't the same as 35 for the average human. Posted Image

Yep, she's not only a mature woman (psychologicaly speaking), but she'll be in her prime (physicaly speaking) for a long time.

@Rath: Nice excerpt, can't wait for the finished product.

@Ieldra: Considering these are mass accelerators, I'd suspect there is a lot more kinetic energy involved than a present day firearm. I've noticed the sniper rifles in the game have an impressive ability to send enemies over backwards or into the air.

Yes, it has been mentioned that an average human's lifespan is (In the ME's universe, though I think they kind of evolved to live more through those years) 100+? or something years, And I think Miranda's genetic engineering part might double that or something.

Don't forget that dying actually introduced him to Miranda, so even when he died he still came out on top...

Yep, don't happen to have the link handy though, and Rath & Meg are still working on it. They just like teasing us with excerpts every now and then. Posted Image

Good point Andy :)

Which probably means she ages slower than most other humans, and will still look amazing for years to come.

BTW, I forgot to mention I like the caption images you posted, perfect setting for it.

I think Shepard's line in ME1 is "We're lucky if we hit 150." My guess is the average human lifespan is about 125 - 130 years or so.

Actually it's around 150 years for an average human, and that's basically due to medical advancements, cleaner environments, etc as opposed to any evolution.

As for Miranda, she lives "half as long again", which sounds weird lol, but pretty much means 1.5 times longer, not double. So she'll most likely live to around 225 years or so...

Time for a topic change, I think.

I am profoundly grateful that Miranda is older than Shepard and is roughly. About half the Bioware romances really squick me because 1) the PC is in a position of authority over the LI 2) the LI is significantly younger/less mature than the PC or 3) the LI is so psychologically damaged that the PC ends up being therapist more than lover. It doesn't feel ethical to romance them because the ability to say no is compromised.

But Miranda? She's an adult who is DEALING with her issues. She might be Shepard's XO but, since her real superior is TIM, it comes off as more of a rlationship between partner than commanding officer/subordinate.

Note to self: don't bring up consent issues in the main forum (Though I really appreciate Toshi defending me)

Those are some of the reasons why I love Miranda as my Shep's partner, and why I could never feel the same way for any other LI.

She's a mature woman, who is emotionaly balanced and developed IMO.

Everyone has issues. But in Miranda's case, she is dealing with them, and asks Shepard's help because she wants it, not because she needs it.

BTW, what happened in the main forum?

So if it's 125-130, we can expect Miri to live to around age 200...she could still re-marry after Shepard pops his clogs, lol.

Here we go, I found this stuff about the Age

"Humans can live to about 150 years, and recent medical advances have eradicated almost all known diseases that afflict them. However, as humans only emerged on the galactic stage within the last thirty years, it is highly likely that the introduction of new technology into their society will greatly increase their average lifespan. Humans reach physical maturity at eighteen years of age, at which point they have usually finished their academic education and either directly enter the workforce or begin training for a profession. "
