On a more serious note, do we have any idea how damping works and what it might feel like to be subjected to it? I'll be so glad when this story is done. It's making my head hurt, and I need to do something more cheerful.

Let's say it's something of a pet peeve for me to make people see and use the least incorrect information available. Not just regarding ME2, but in general. Probably it's because I do some similar things in my job.

....exactly that kind of misinterpretation was why I was going on about polls, threads and popularity. Hear me, Mav?

From poll results and group membership, Thane is about as "beloved" as Kaidan, but his thread only has 60 pages. Do we draw any conclusions from that?

Damping stuns people altogether...will that work for you?  I presume it emits some sort of field that temporarily shuts down an electrical system effectively stunting your nervous system for a couple seconds.

as said before, only a very small percentage of game owners ever frequent the forums, and even less post, so of 2 million units shipped, who really cares if a few hundred vote in a meaningless poll.....

A few hundred is all you need for a good sample. Unless you have reason to believe things are systematlcally different for the group you ask, you can usually take the sample for the whole. Granted, I have no idea if the subset of forum users have LI character preferences systematically different from all players. But more often than you might think, things even out.

Before ME2 I never would have thought message board babble mattered that much but man alot of fan feedback clearly went into ME2. For the better for the most part even if the whole idea of a Garrus romance I find sorta squicky.

Few, if any conclusions. That's the point. I care about wrong perceptions. Not just with regard to this admittedly unimportant thing. And you seem to take simple seriousness as "getting bent out of shape".  

As for being OT - if others can talk about Chuck, I can talk about LI character preference statistics.

Fear it will effect the way the third game is developed in some way?  I know that is one of the big reasons I post on these boards in the first place.  If the Devs really listen I want my opinion represented.
