*sigh* this topic is the only thing worth reading, I swear I checked out some of the other ones on this board and its nothing but ****ing and crying...if people are that unhappy with ME2 why even come here? /frustrated

Because all good things end, ME2 was epic and when people finally begin to have only the final juices left of the current content, it feels bad. :pinched:

This is the curse of the game developer. It takes months or even years for hundreds of graphic artists, storywriters, voice actors, games designers, and other professionals to put together a decent-length game.

And people churn through it--quite rabidly--in a few weeks. I actually tried to pace ME2 a little bit so I could enjoy it more.

ME2 is particularly frustrating because it's the middle part of the trilogy. So much about Shepard's story is unresolved; the Reapers are still out there, there's no closure with the LI, etc. When I finished DAO, I would've happily continued dungeon crawling and dargon slaying, but I felt like I had experience a complete story with beginning/middle/end, and all the characters had gone through a complete are with few unresolved quesitons (which is why I was fine with all-new companions in Awakening WHICH IS OUT TODAY ZOMG.)

Who plays RPGs because of the numbers?  I swear when I first picked up D&D way back in the day I did not get into it because rolling dice and checking stats was fun, it was because I wanted to be a hero and fight evil and explore ruins and all that jazz.  If they want to geek over stats why not learn accounting and start doing people's taxes?

RPG = Role Playing Game.

This is why I love ME2. They removed all the **** that is typical associated with RPGs and just gave me a role that I could play. I wasn't forced to obsess over meaningless statistics to find out if some weapon is 1% better than my or my teammates other weapon.

Thus I wholeheartedly tell those 'hard-PGers' to go **** themselves. They've forgotten what a RPG is supposed to be about.

I'm not sure what prompted this, but when I play an RPG game (as opposed to some other genre of game), I have two main expectations:
-I have higher story expectations. Non-RPGs can and do tell good stories, but I EXPECT a story in an RPG.
-Some character-building mechanic. (Certain JRPGs, where all the characters were essentially interchangeable gameplay wise, let me down in this respect.)

It's funny you bring up the kind of number-crunching, 'meaningless statistics' stuff, because I do do that sort of thing IN MULTIPLAYER GAMES. I did WoW theorycraft spreadsheets for my Warlock (not my Priest, because I knew Priest well enough not to need it), and I did my best to hunt down the best gear in the game. In a singleplayer game it seems kind of pointless getting the VERY ABSOLUTE BEST possible, because what are you going to do with it, kill Ragnaros?

Yeah, it is frustrating, but gives hope about ME3 being beyond epic. I rushed through ME2 too many times now, hopefully the new DLC give me interest to try it again. DA:O was over for me after second full run through though. Tell me how the Awakening goes, I felt bit skeptic about it, but I don't have the computer to run the game properly, so part of my opinion on the game is affected by that fact.

Also side note to the Chucksters, the last night's episode had the worst rating ever. 1.9 I hear, the official forums are quite depressed at some parts. The angst seem to have made the people not care anymore.:? Somehow I could see this coming. Hopefully it won't signal the final cancellation though. :crying: Sometimes I forget that most of the fan base ain't as spoiler hungry as I am, so that could be  that case. Seeing the Beard could've also turned off few people.

lol, was playing my second DAO runthrough to try to finish it before picking up awakenings, it's not gonna happen...all I have left though is RTO and the final battle (I saved RTO to the end, because this was the playthrough I was gonna get SECRET MYSTERY CHARACTER.)

hmm shame. i do think they've overstretched the angst even from season #1-#2, it can destroy the show when the relationships come together, if it's not handled well, but some shows have done it very successfully. there comes a point where you just can't stretch credibility further, though by keeping them apart.

Just threw a quick sig together for you Guardian. I'll probably make a few different ones tomorrow with a few different styles.

This one is a little more cluttered than what I normally go for, but here goes:

Daniel Shaw killed Chuck Bartowski?!  Guess all you can do now is hope for the best. Maybe the epi 11 promo will bring some back. ''You know you are going to miss me, right?'' and the later scene..

Ok wait I just realized it was Daylight Savings Time in the US last weekend.  All networks took a major hit last night.

If the ratings are not back to the 2.3 range or so next week then we can worry.

I seriously doubt the shippers are bailing on the show now.  It is so blatantly obvious that Chuck is going to go after Sarah here...I mean please.

Yeah, I agree with the colours on the left. It all feels very cluttered. Don't worry, more to come in the next 24 hours or so.

Still...man I will be crushed if that show gets cancelled after this year.  Suddenly, for the first time all season, I am nervous.

No...no...happy thoughts happy thoughts.

In a moment of foolish gallantry I pledged to not drink alcohol until the baby was born out of solidarity.

My impulsiveness gets me in trouble again.
