Does anyone know how exactly to kick off the romance with Miranda? After the loyalty mission she thanks me, we talk about her sis, and if she'll keep in touch, but the conversation doesn't really lead anywhere, or does the "flirting begin" after I've got another mission out the way? i.e Loyalty mission for one of the other crew members....??? On another note I think Miranda is best suited to a Shepherd who is in between, all though it doesn't really matter, she mentally strong-willed and knows what way to go about things..
After you talk about her sister, you need to go do another mission to get to the next dialogue.

I'm too tired to write much else so I'll simply say this, I agree entirely.Jediknight120 wrote...

Do you guys think Miranda is better suited for a renegade or paragon Shep? Or something inbetween? Do you think it matters at all? Do you think Shepard's influence turns her to one side or the other like Bastila in KotOR? Or do you think she ultimately makes her own decisions and chooses her own path?
I have my own opinions on the matter, but I'll wait until some other people have answers before I say anything.
The way I've written her, she's more suited for a paragon Shep. I view her like Bastila in that Shep's influence eventually breaks down her walls. In my mind a renegade Shep pushes her away, and if anything solidifies her barriers. She looks for excuses to not trust people, and Shep has to be pretty damn persistant and understanding to get past that.

He hasn't done anything but what I like to cal "bad sci-fi" movies in quite a while. Looks like it's just a small part for him though. Trailer looks good though.

Thanks Jediknight120! much appreciated! I had to backtrack a few missions to get to that point again in the game! I thought, I can't go getting the collectors without romancing Miranda 1st!..lol!
Np, it's worth it, her romance is the best IMHO.

I think Shepard influences everyone around him, although sometimes is more dramatic or shown more clearly by the game writers. The fact that Shepard is controlled by the player, having feedback for the player's aciton's is rewarding, gives him a lot of extra jam. Some characters will voice their disapproval, though no one ever pulls a Sten "I'm taking command!" moment. (Which made my jaw drop when I saw it.)
Having done this romance as a paragon Shepard, I feel like the story and Miranda's arc works better that way. Miranda's entrance in the game is killing someone in cold blood; she seems distant and clinical. Romancing her as a Paragon, you stress that (1) her attachment to Cerberus is not needed for her to define her self-worth, and (2), her compassion for her sister should be encouraged, and ultimately extended into a more general principle of compassion (culminating in the Collector Base decision--we've discussed in this thread before the implications it could have for her sister, but I personally think it's important that she's putting principle above her personal expediency, here.)
As a renegade, you don't really cause her to grow or change at all. She comes off as a more static character that way IMO.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. I definitely think a paragon Shep can break down her barriers like a renegade Shep can't. I also think Badger had a good point when he said a renegade Shep might remind her of her father. We have no idea what her father is like at this point, so of course that's all speculation, but I could see it.Jediknight120 wrote...

I think for the most part she chooses her own path, but she's not above being influenced by someone close to her. Especially someone she has so much respect for like Shepard. Miranda's morals are sort of a grey area in my mind, just like Sarah Walker's in Chuck. She'll kill, if necessary. She'll do what it takes to further her goals if she believes them important enough, but even she has her limits. I think a paragon Shep would just help her conscience come into play more often.
