Perhaps, I'm feeling more and more tired and run down thanks to work and that's just making my mood worse.  Six day, or longer, weeks are becoming more and more frequent at the moment and I don't think I'm getting sufficient time to rest and relax.  Fortunately I've got a week off soon, hopefully it comes before I snap altogether.

American?

Why would he be American because of what he wrote?

This thread is sooo huge... yet Bioware claims Jack is more popular and gave her alternate appearence instead of Miri?? Sounds kinda lame... I think Miri and Tali and Thane are the 3 most popular to be honest.... at least that is my impression from this forums...

but I hope they keep the good stuff for Miri for a second appearence pack... wonder what they come up with... hopefully not another reskin...

i assumed that none of her other "sisters" lived past embryonic stage as they were being genetically-engineered. i can imagine psychological abuse, stemming from such high expectations, but verbally? :?

It's part of the same thing. Verbal *is* psychological. As for Miranda's sisters, how would he know if any of his "daughters" could live up to his expectations if he did not give them the chance? Miranda says she's "the first one he kept." That doesn't sound like something as comparatively harmless as an early abortion.

verbal abuse can be psychological absue as well, if it's used that way, but not always - for instance aggressive language/behaviour is not necc. psychological in nature but can still be abusive. of course i guess it is still semantically entangled.

as for living up to expectations, i fully assumed that the extensive genetic engineering wouldn't necc. be foolproof first time, and getting the right mix of genes for the "perfect" offspring wouldn't be easy. let alone tring to make a biotic one - what's the success rate for biotics even surviving <10%?

It's one assumption that could work. But then, once you get the genetic engineering part right, the children have to develop what they've been given. Genes only determine potential, and raising the children appropriately is immensely important. I have assumed that he didn't get that aspect right the first time and was left with one or more suboptimal "daughters" living. OK, he *might* not have killed them. But ruthless as he comes across, again, why wouldn't he?

Gah, I'll have to check that one off my list too then. 6 day work weeks suck. I guessed American because I am, and 80% of the employed people I know have similar or worse work situations.

Though my question was supposed to be directed at location and not nationality... Messed that up I guess.

Where does Bioware claim that Jack is more popular than Miranda? That would be silly, because clearly she isn't. The simple fact that they chose to publish Jack's alternate appearance early doesn't indicate that they consider her more popular.

Yes. I also get the buggy one. Miranda is standing on the table while Shepard has his arms wrapped around empty space. Weird. nice to see a screenshot of how it should look like.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bioware said that. They also said that most people founf the planet scanning strangely addictive. *gag* Pardon me, I think I just threw up a little.

They *really* said that? Are you sure about that? I can't believe it... didn't they say the opposite in the recent IGN interview?

I believe, that's why I said, strikeing it off my list. I'm trying to get into Australia myself, along with several other family members. I actually have no work conditions at all though, as I'm one of the 30% of people I know without a job. That's why I have so much time to spend on forums, quoting pics and trolling.

There was a whole thread about it maybe a week ago HERE. Hudson supposedly said it in GI (Game Informer?).

Miranda also seems to exhibit a couple of traits common to those who were psychologically abused as children, especially low self-esteem She is supremely confident in her abilities, true, but doesn't view them as truly her. "The only thing I can take credit for is my mistakes." She seems to view herself largely as a tool. Her self-worth is bound up in how useful she is, not in any intrinsic quality.

Resistance is futile! For sure. I used to make $30/hr, now I can't even get an interview for a $10/hr job. The Aus min wage (according to everything I've read) is better than anything I can get here... that is, if I could get something here. I did get some community service a couple months back, they had to let me work then (though several places did turn me down, WTF!?!?). When you can't even volunteer, something is very effed up. And no, I'm not a criminal, just a common traffic offender.

yep but you can start to break down that illusion as shepard, thankfully. she doesn't believe you at first (as you'd expect) but you see a pronounced change by the end of the game, especially if you destroy the station with her - having the courage to stand up to the illusive man is a significant change, after all.

Great work. I'm starting to feel like I don't need to play ME2 anymore, lol.

Edit:
Ah, you included one of my favourite quotes here too:

Shepard: Your spirit and personality are what make you great. It's what makes anyone great.

Miranda: That's kind of you... I'm not sure I believe you, but thanks for saying it.

I thought it was sweet and in Shepard's character to cover himself there by qualifying the statement to apply to everybody.

Well known bug on the PC version.  Miranda will do the bed animation and Shepard will do the couch animation.  The cure is easy though: save and reload.  Problem solved.
