I hate being pessimistic but thy didn't leave much room for being optimistic as it is now. Time will tell I suppose but if they have plans to do something I hope they don't take to long. I guess nothing will happen until the comic is done so I give them till March but no more :P

That is pretty much what I am waiting around for.  Assuming of course the comic doesn't ruin things ahead of time.  If they are going to have a Liara Expansion that is most likely when we will hear about it.  If that sucks, I'll be done with ME and BW.

If it is ubertacular it might be enough to hold me over till ME3 but there are certain things that I will expect to be in it, and if those are missing it'll be a clear sign to me they have no intention of making good on these "rewarded in ME3" promises.

I'd really like to see Liara back specifically, but I think they need to come up with a new way to explore LI's that doesn't conform to the formula they've used in all their previous games. The formula is always about getting the girl/guy. But most of us already have gotten her/him by ME2, and we need to explore the depths of the relationship at this point.

You all should probably repost your pics and such in the new thread that where in the first one, its locked now and will fall to the back of the pages where no one will see them.

The Liara scene gives me the feeling that it was barely finished.
From what I've seen, this seems to mean that BioWare made a drastic change near the completion of ME2 and cut something big out of the Liara scene.
Now, if BioWare had been planning something else and it was cut, then they already know that the scene is unfinished.
From an optimistic approach I would say that they are going to fix all the problems with Liara and Shepard's relationship in Liara DLC, (with extra Liara for our troubles:wub:) and give her a major part in ME3 at Shepard's side, which will further delve into the relationship.
My pessimistic approach would go as far as saying that there will be no DLC but she will have a big part in ME3 again, at Shepard's side of course (you may have noticed my pessimistic approach is close to my optimistic, lol).
Even though the scene had barely any recognition of the relationship between her and Shepard, it does seem as if it is now completely left it open for DLC or ME3 (now the question is, in a good or a bad way).
This is really all more or less based on optimism though.
I have to ask, what is the point in even playing ME if Liara is not there?
Liara is the most interesting (and beautiful:wub:) character in a video game (possibly in all entertainment) I have ever seen. I really hope BioWare doesn't let us down.

Agreed! We've already gone through the 'I like you, do you like me?' rigamaroll, let's see some interaction, some back and forth, other than the supposedly requisite booty call towards the end of the game. Some personal chats that non-romancers wouldn't get because they're too personal, some subtle 'flirting during staff meetings' fun, other random fun things like finding the pet nug for Lelianna - and I don't mean yet another animal for Shep's room, it smells like hamster poop as it is - but something fun and couple-y along those lines.

And before anyone asks, yes, I know that ME isn't a dating sim. :? What can I say, I dig character interaction.

Oh noes! It requires the PC version of dragon age... I think a friend at work might have it. I'll borrow his and see if I can get it to work. =]

I personally think that is one of the big reason's they hid the ME1 romances, Bioware has never done a romance beyond the initial akward meeting stage since Baldur's Gate. If they are going to continue the romances in3, which they really should, they are all going to need to be a lot more involved then the I like you, do you like me too stage.

I love Liara, but even I am suspicious that they are going to turn her in to a villian, one that you can redeem and have join your team at best, at worst it will be a choice between Liara and the origonal Shadow broker, the person you choose lives and feeds you info, and the other dies.

I really hope not, but Bioware in the past has often taken the most incredibly good and nice indivual's and turned them to evil.

Heh heh, and arguments over who's turn it is to clean the hamster

Liara: "By the goddess Shepard, can't the hamster be moved out of our cabin, it smells!"

Shepard: "Your turn to clean it my little blueberry muffin, or if you would prefer we can space it via the garbage compactor"

Lol =)

Then I think you might not be welcomed here that much . Why don't you make your own Shiala thread, see how well that goes.

That scene was cut down over time.  I've come across audio files that were cut out of ME2.  These pertained to the SB/Liara plot.  Judging from those files, originally this plot was to be resolved in ME2 but they decided to extract it out into the comic book and possible DLC (even ME3?).

I'm hoping they bring it back in the form of DLC. I doubt I'll get involved with the comic book. I've got enough stuff going on outside of my ME obsession to worry about it. Interesting you came across some audio files, anything of a particular interest that could spark an interesting conversation? Holy crap, last sentence said interesting too many times. :pinched:

I'm ok with her being a redeemable character, so long as you can recruit her and explore the relationship further as a result or in the course of her redemption.

Not really.  None of it was romance related Image IPB

From what I can gather, Liara was going to send Shepard on a mission to kill the SB.  They suceeded and Liara got a hold of the SB's files and wanted to look through them instead of joining Shepard on the suicide mission.  Not much was recorded so this plot idea was probably scrapped early on.

Also given the announements about Awakenings, I kinda agree.  BW obviously has the "introduce new characters" routine down pat, but I get the feeling they don't know where to go with it after that.

From what I've seen the core game already contains audio files that belong to unreleased DLC, like the Kasumi lines.

www.youtube.com/watch

It might be the same with Liara/SB audio lines that won't be usable until the DLC is released. Did you actually find anything specific about those audio files? If you did, that would certainly be news for me, and pretty solid evidence for some actually satisfying DLC about Liara.
