If they reveal a Liara-centric expansion at E3 then I'll be ecstatic. We're guaranteed something deep and substantial then!

I wouldn't say guaranteed, but it will give us something to look forward to and hope we aren't disappointed again.

One can still dream. ^^ But to speculate a bit. BW is big enough (how many different teams do they have again, i think i read it somewhere but i forgot)  to work on several ME projects (as DLC/Expansion/ME3). So it could be possible.  But at this point it can rather be a small hope than a real speculation...

An expansion by definition is something pretty big, and with alot of content. If any expansion is focused on Liara, then it's almost certain that it will be something deep. Extensive romance content is also pretty likely too. Plus, they'd be able to have the events of the Liara expansion have tangible effects on the game universe, as alot more peopl will buy an expansion rather than a smaller DLC.

Because they wanted to market the new characters to the fanbase, I guess. If a noobie logged onto the forum and saw huge threads dedicated to characters that had minimal roles in ME2, it would cause confusion. They wanted to bring the new characters to everyone's attention.

Although they didnt do a very good job with marketing the new ones exspecially how they marketed Jack was more or less a disaster:whistle:

The whole character was a disaster...

Oh, he should "monitor this thread closely" for sure, maybe he'll learn something.

Seriously, when you first saw that BioWare logo on the thread, did anyone get their hopes up that someone would finally be bothered to actually communicate with their community? The latest reply I saw was in the DLC complaint thread. It's always a few "witty" remarks, but never any addressing of the points. Bah. <_<

But, they have to start communicating once ME 3 is around the corner. I hope everyone will (still or again) be around then, to tell them what we think...

Frankly theres nothing to sell right now so there is no need to show up here or anywhere else, but I agree as soon as ME3 is announced they will be around to hype it with plenty of lies and half-truths<_<

Yeah, but it won't work a second time (I hope). I guess they'll either tell us the ugly truth more or less openly, or not communicate at all. We'll see, but as I said, everyone should come to the party... ;)

As much as I appreciate that response (it expresses how I feel to a certain degree), I hope that the Liarasexuals on this thread will try to stay civil, especially with the developers.  I think all of us would really appreciate a full-blown conversation with them about what happened and what might happen in the future.  I hope that we will go out of our way to make them feel comfortable should they choose to come here and engage us.

Up until the past few days I've been really proud of how mature and respectful this thread has been, both to the game and to each other.  I think there are legitimate gripes we have, and many of us have expressed severe reservations and criticism about the direction ME has taken, but for the most part we have done so respectfully.

Let's continue to do so in the (somewhat vain) hope that someone will actually talk to us.

It has crossed my mind on a number of occasions should the fairly likely outcome of the ME1 LIs be true, and we get another cameo in ME3, how would they break it this time? Avoid it entirely, or just flat out get it out of the way early on?

They kinda mixed both with ME2, leaving it to a crummy magazine reveal only a few months before release. Maybe theyll go with that again....

This. :wizard:

I still think we'll hear something good at E3.

Hm most likely in that case they will go around shouting how "important" they will be to the ME3 plot and stress it that a character doesnt need to be a squadmate for a significant role, not sure if they would come out with it from the start though that might lose them a few sales

I'd much prefer them to be honest and get it out in the open early if Liara is cameo'd in ME3, rather than stringing us along and raising our hopes only for them to be crushed.

Seriously, I'd actually appreciate it. I wouldn't need to get my hopes up at all.

Yeah I totally agree. The anticipation would be fun, but I don't want to see our thread go through another meltdown if this scenario arises :innocent:

Yup, I think you just nailed it. Theyll probably line up plenty of talk about how "people put to much emphasis on the squadmate role for characters and their importance in the game".

Sure, squadmates are only the most well developed characters in the game who recieve the most attention and help define the player character. How could they possibly be more important than a "10 minute plot sensitive NPC role"?

Anderson in ME1 is a perfect example. Massively important character - massively absent for 90% of the game.

Thats the difference between the two.
