That's my worry too...I wouldn't even want Liara as a squad mate in this case, as her squad mate role would be shallow anyways.   It might be better if she is an important npc. 

This is the reason for my sig. Simply put, people are going to get disappointed one way or another. Whether its because they didnt bring back their favourite character, or that they brought back all the favourites and because their are so many with alive/dead variables, they are all complete crap.

Id rather the ME2 squad get high quality cameo roles in ME3. Weve already outlined the "ME1 Lis were apparantly 'saved', the ME2 squad werent" point, and there is also, due to the plot, the extremely "contractual" nature of the relationship. I know folks have claimed the ME1 LIs were "just flings", but in light of ME2 that claim is just laughable. There is no real talk of the future from any of the squadmates, and if it is, its often "if we survive, Ill go back to doing my own thing".

I dont personally like any of the ME2 squad (Mordin and Samara are my favourites, and I did like them, but theyve worn out their limited appeal). Everything that took place pre-ME2 only cemented the fact that I wouldnt like this new squad, and in light of what happens to Wrex for example, they just seem like expendable holdovers to me.

Whether its to the ME1 LIs return, or an entirely new squad in ME3, I guess well find out eventually.

Dink: You got a really good point about the whole "people will be dissapointed", Bioware really dug themselve in a hole with ME2.

Yeah, people want better squad interaction and more dialog, but they can't do that if they bring up to 15 squad mates back from all previous games. They could focus more on the characters they do bring back, but there will have to be less of them to possibly make this work.

The Liara 'hug' is much better than the kiss, IMO. I'm going to cheat next time I play the game so I can get the hug instead.

Everyone should have got the hug, and Liara should have ended the whole mission line/dialogue on the kiss if you romanced her - only uninterrupted since Nyxeris would be out of the way.

It would have been a far better goodbye than the robotic "Ill talk to you later Liara" just after Liara tries to justify why shes not taking part in this game.

Yeah you do...there's no difference in the two scenes besides the hug and kiss...and the 500 credits she gives you for the 'Observer' quest.

Is there any vid out there where you can compare the two scenes side by side ?
Because I didn't see much differences between the two interactions
On the other hand it still pretty sad if we have to count every small smile to catch a glimpse of our Shepard 's romantic involment with Liara<_<
