But, Shepard has the cypher and I would imagine any asari linked up to Shep's mind would also possess it via Shep's mind for a time (until the mental link is severed).

If the info disappears after the mental link is severed, why does Shepard keep the information when Shiala is done. None of it makes any sense now...

Dammit, I think too much.

Welcome! Ashley is one of my favourite ME characters, and unfortunately, because you don't receive an email if you don't romance her, as far as I know she's still pissed off with my Shepard.

I want both Liara and Ash back on the squad for ME3!

Problem is she cant just pick the parts she likes, shes in for the full package

Well, yeah...that's true for any career.

Still though again she just big on Illium and may have some significance in the Underworld of the Terminus systems, but that would not bring her the position her mother had,it might make her something like Aria but not something like Benezia before the whole Saren thing, besides I doubt the Asari politcal scene would accept someone that young

Nah, I don't think she'll follow in Benezia's footsteps anytime soon (won't be for hundreds and hundreds of years in the future) but the info field might be a way for her to jump start this.

Then of course we have the plotpoint of her taking over the SBs network which would make her well the next SB and his organisation is geared towards making profit and ran like this for a long time so chances are Liara walks in and "reforms" it instantly are going against zero, more likely is she gets "reformed" by it which leads us again to the posibility of her becoming an antagonist and in the worst case even cannon fooder for Shepard

I don't think she wants to reform the SB network, but topple it.  She has her own network, which is much much smaller and (supposedly) independent of the SB's.  She would continue on with the network she created with the policies she's laid in place.

guess what is more time consuming:
1. converting 100 .BMP files
or:
2.waiting for the conversion tool to finish
....
it's so boring that we [at least I] need a new pic:
this one is new and sponsored by: jlb524

You know, I've been thinking.

Maybe those aspects of the job that she hates are only necessary at the moment because she's currently working in the Terminus Systems, and therefore having to deal with mercs, pirates, slavers etc. Because of this, she's having to strong-arm some of her clients in that manner, which is something Liara obviously has a distaste for.

If she were to move her operations to Citadel space, perhaps Liara would be able to enjoy the aspects of the job that she likes, such as the gathering of knowledge and handing out information to decent people, without having to threaten or deal with shady clients? Perhaps she could enjoy her job then?

Take a look at Barla Von. Seems a nice, and respectable enough person. I think if Liara wanted to continue in the information field, she'd end up like him. Running a respectable, honest and innocent organisation, without having to deal with shady characters.

Well moving to council space would reduce the amount of criminals she has to deal with but, wouldnt cancel out the threatining to flay people with her mind part of the job, basicly the difference between Council space and Terminus its that its less screwed up

As for Barla Von,I would say hes somewhat shady but hides it well, hes also exploiting loopholes and whatnot, but then again dealing information is more of a sidejob for him hes an accountant first with a impressive list of clients I guess that protects him mostly

Right, I don't think the information field is inherently 'bad' or driven solely by profit.  It can be used for good, like to help the authorities capture dangerous criminals, or to aid in reuniting long lost family members, etc.  Information is just a tool good and bad people use.

Liara does say, 'I'm a very good information broker' with a hint of pride, so I think she does like something about it!

Agree. I want them both back. Still upset that I couldn't play ME2 with my ME1 crew.  Don't know what will happen to either one in ME 3.
I know of a Liara and Ash pic you might not have seen. Not sure if it made it on here yet. I will post a link if you want.

Nah, there is a difference. Liara's clients would be more or less decent people, who would want their information for alot more noble reasons. She wouldn't have to deal with pirates or slavers anymore.

Plus, there's no need to strongarm or threaten people when they refuse to pay. That was a necessity in the Terminus Systems because the entire region is completely lawless. In Council space, you have police forces like C-Sec, plus there's law and order and a stable society. If a client refuses to pay in Council space, then you report him or her to the local law authorities as they are essentially committing an act of theft by taking goods without paying for them. This is something that isn't possible in the Terminus Systems, as there is little law and corruption is widespread. Liara has to threaten and strong arm her shady clients who do not pay for her services.

"The world of intrigue isn't that different from a dig site, except that the dead bodies still smell."

From pride to distaste in one short sentence. Yep, I'd say there are definitely aspects that she enjoys, but there are also plenty that she doesn't enjoy either!

But she said the dead body line so.... emotionlessly. She didnt seem to dislike or like that.

Yeah, what was up with that guy not paying her anyway?  Did he think maybe he could get away with it just because Liara's the 'new kid on the block' in the Illium info broker field?

She told him how it was!

He was some deadbeat who thought he could take the information she gave him without paying her, and therefore stealing from Liara.

Like you said, she showed him!

True pirates and slavers cannot work that open in council space but there still around, but that just as a sidenote

But in general I agree Council space works differently its more organised then Terminus, which opens up an entirely new field of problems,C-Sec works both ways it could as well work against Liara and then in case someone refuses paying well,if shes really willing to go the legal way with all that paperwork and politics in the way I dont know
If she wants to go legal I guess she should found a News corporation or something:P:wizard:

I wonder what he was thinking when Liara yelled 'Shepard' in a completely different tone and ran away from the comm terminal?

From the way her new position is presented she doesnt seem to be the "new kid on the block",but seems to have become on of the most sucessfull information brokers the moment she set foot on Illium<_<

She didn't 'call him out' or say anything derogatory about humans...she just gave him a friendly reminder that most of his kind hasn't faced an asari commando unit before and thus, isn't aware of how dangerous and powerful they are.

That also goes to show, that not much Commando force was necessary, and the humans/asari are overall on pretty good terms.

IIRC, the communication had already ended by the time Liara realised Shepard was standing behind her. I don't think the deadbeat human heard her squeal "Shepard!" like a schoolgirl. ^_^
