My realist side says that the Liara's father thing will never see the light of day. The story devoted to it was only there as flavor to give Liara more depth and help ground her in the realities we understand. Don't take that to mean we can't discuss who it might have been, just consider that, like all background flavor, it will never be brought up again in the story line.LesEnfantsTerribles wrote...

I agree, it definitely has some potential although i doubt that it'll be a topic to talk about in ME3. Maybe some smaller lines from Liara but i guess that will not reaveal anything new.
The Liaras father "plot" on the other hand might be something that could be explained, imo. (Aethya [is that spelled right? ^^] for Liaras father!) Could be a topic for some emotional, in-deph discussion with Liara then.
"But that's just my opinion though, there's really no need go spread it around..."
Definitely. Although it could be quite a difficult and emotional revelation for Liara, it could be very interesting, and give ample opportunity for alot of deep and emotional Liara screentime and dialogue, with some intimate and tender moments between Liara and Shepard as well, if Liara is upset over the whole affair and you can be supportive and comforting to her.
I'm not sure if I do want Liara to learn of the identity of her father, though. She's already suffered enough these past two years, and to see her put through the emotional wringer again would be pretty heart-wrenching.

wonder when it will be officially announced and what it will involve....from truffle's twitter:
For those asking about DLC, trust me, we're releasing story DLC as fast as we can. Item dlc is like a between-meal snack.

I'm the opposite though, in that I think the whole thing with Liara's father is going to prove to be a very significant plot point. I've said it before, but I think it's a Chekov's Gun, and we won't see it's full relevance to the storyline until perhaps ME3. I just think that you don't touch on something like that with a core character like Liara, and leave it unresolved and hanging around in the background without it eventually coming to mean something. The fact that we're given a little nod to it with Aethyta seems to me that they're keeping it in the back of player's minds as a reminder, so that when they eventually reveal it, it doesn't seem to come out of nowhere.

If anything, the unconfirmed expansion will have content with Liara Ash/Kaiden, and will not be limited to just them. Liara is not going to have the type of interaction Les always goes on about. There is not going to be a "Liara DLC".
Ok, now for somethign less hag like...

Also, love that pic, Sunnie. Wish we could have had a nicer picture of Liara for Shepard's desk!

What about if we get a Liara-centric expansion and an expansion pack that also contains Ashley and Kaidan? That'd give us ample opportunity for some extensive dialogue and romance content with Liara.

While that sounds great I Would buy it in less than a heartbeat! However, I have been involved in this business for over 25 years and my experience tells me that neither of these DLCs will happen.
Remember, they are working on DLC content that must appeal to the widest audience, so they can make a profit. Spending tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands of dollars on something that will only appeal to a very minor portion of your customers just isn't good business.

This. It only makes sense. I still totally love BioWare, and I don't expect them to make DLC tailored to just myself.

Well, I don't think an expansion with Ash/Kaidan is out of the question. Same with one with Liara. Just don't expect it to be about nothing but them, and how they'll take you back, and go on dates, rainbows and butterflies, etc, etc. Think more of an 2 hour mission that Ash/Kaidan get involved in, and becomes a temp character in your squad till the mission is over. Or, if you're lucky, a 5 hour mission, with some history dialogue. But that's it.

Expansion yes, but it is not going to be centered around Liara only, or even Liara, Ash/Kaiden. Expansion generally means 20+ hours of added content. It will cover a lot more so it will appeal to more of the players, so they will open their purses and wallets and pour thier money into EA's store. What I am saying is that there will not be a DLC that will be just about Liara, it just would not be a profit worthy project.

Not sure about how "Liara-centric" it'll be. Also not sure about the "revelations" we could see in it. I think it will probably set a path for ME3, not absolutely necessarily to play to understand (if its that way ME3 will probably explain the events in it) but hopefully a nice story (maybe how Liara can make her penultimate step towards the Shadow Broker, whose identity will be revealed in ME3) and a reunion with our beloved characters.
Of course i'm not sure about what really will happen with an expansion/story-DLC but hope dies last so... go for Liara DLC (ok, thats not an objective viewpoint ^^)

Thing is though, I've seen plenty of those people who do not particularly care for Liara around the forum who would be interested in a Liara-centric expansion due to the whole Shadow Broker arc, and how that's going to be resolved. I don't think interest in this expansion would be limited to Liara's considerable fanbase, quite a few people want to see what happens with her and the Shadow Broker. Doesn't the commercial success of Redemption tell you something? BioWare definitely sees Liara as a means of making money.
Appealing to the masses shouldnt be that hard in any case be it Liara related DLC or Expansion as long as there is enough shooting it should work out I guess,at least that are my impressions from the marketing going by that casual players dont care about story as long as there is enough to shoot but whatever
To me personally the main question is what will they do now, they have basicly assasinated Liaras ME1 character,so now I want to see if they attempt at least a partcial ressurection or start dancing on the grave

I think that's something we can agree on. Any DLC or expansion would not be centred solely around Liara, no. But around Liara, and her extended story and character arc and everything that entails? I think that's a distinct possibility.
I think it's a worthy possibility, and while it may center around the whole Shadow Broker arc, it will more likely have to do with stopping an indoctrinated SB requireing the intire ME2 team again (or who ever is left after the CB mission). I really doubt there will be any specific Liara/Ash/Kaiden character development. That way the entire customer base would have an interest in it. Also consider that any further development would seriousely take away material they could use for ME3. Look at it from the business side and you will see what I am saying.

I do not believe it will. There are 2 outcomes possible, Nyxeris is either dead, or alive. The possibilities are just too polar opposite to really make anything of it.darknoon5 wrote...

Most likely no effect at all, although you might have to do her mission first before you unlock the DLC mission,as for picking the wrong target well they can always play in a way that Nyxeris tried to kill Liara anyway and failed and we might get a slightly different line or something but beyond that I would say nothing

G'morning, Sunnieshine!
Getting back on topic: Personally I don't know why anyone would not do Liara's quests, and why they award Renegade points (if anything, they should award both or none). First time I did the second quests of hers, I got the right answer due to a simple process of elimination (the game actually, rather conveniently, does this for you). The only way to fail the quest is to do so on purpose...and who would want to do that?
But that's just one fellow's opinion...

As for the quest: Like always, nothing you did in the main game will really effect anything in a DLC. Nor will anything effect anything in ME 3, looking at how it went with the transition from ME 1 to ME 2.
