@Les
Expansion yes, but it is not going to be centered around Liara only, or even Liara, Ash/Kaiden. Expansion generally means 20+ hours of added content. It will cover a lot more so it will appeal to more of the players, so they will open their purses and wallets and pour thier money into EA's store. What I am saying is that there will not be a DLC that will be just about Liara, it just would not be a profit worthy project.

We'll probably get a SB centered expac but I doubt Liara will be more than window dressing/quest giver in it.  I don't really expect much more from BW than that at this point.

The distribution of paragon and renegade points repeatedly makes no sense anyway. Like so often in the game, it feels as if the developers didn't really care about logic or coherence.

You got that right. Not that it ever bothered me, mind you...though it does smack slightly of "the gray fallacy".

As for the quest: Like always, nothing you did in the main game will really effect anything in a DLC. Not will anything effect anything in ME 3, looking at how it went with the transition from ME 1 to ME 2.

Yeah, they wouldn't want to punish the non-DLC players. Either that, or they pick a predetermined outcome to be included for those who did have the DLC on their import save and hope for the best -- you know, like how they did for the BDtS DLC.

They will most likely set the renegade jerk as default for everything so most references to the old game are elimated so it "confuses" noone

Well, I don't know about you, but I sacrificed the hostages every time (for Paragon reasons, obviously; Shepard will gladly let the faces of those people keep her awake at night if it means that many many others can be saved), so it worked out for me. Thing is, I also spared Balak so the Alliance could ream him for information.

Well I didnt mean it exclusive to BdtS,but that was the default road they went with in ME2,defaul Shepard did nearly no sidequests and nearly killed everyone who dared to speak with him/her more or less, its safe to say we can expect something similar in ME3

I (almost) always saved the hostages. BdtS does exactly what ME 2 fails to do - show the victims, make you care. My Shepard can't sacrifice them, even though it might be a mistake in the long run.

Actually the N7 mission with the Batarians would have been a nice place to bring this to full circle but I guess the effort of giving one of the faceless Batarians you gun down a name was to big<_<

Thank you, I really appreciate it.  But I wouldn't have been able to do any of it if Lougi hadn't told me about GIMP:P

Nice pics, AZ. Liara looks absolutely beautiful, as she always does!

Regarding what was discussed earlier about the Liara DLC, I do think there is a way to have the DLC or expansion have choices with great effects on Liara's character or the story as a whole. If a player imports a ME2 save into ME3 that does not contain the Liara DLC, then they could possibly assign a series of default choices, similar to playing a non-import ME2 game. They'd make a few of the choices in the Liara DLC default, and provide an explanation for what occured in that content if necessary.

That's how I feel they could have Liara's DLC be quite deep and substantial, whilst being able to work it into the storyline of those who would not buy it.

Odd, I usually don't, mentally roleplaying that letting someone willing to murder a million people go is too much a risk to take, and it would have to bite Shepard in the backside at some point.

Instead it affects a line in ME2.

Granted, main-game-quest into DLC, it'd be easier to affect a change because everyone got Lia's quest offered to them.  So that might have an effect; Nyx could well be involved in the quest if you didn't do the Observer quests, if they have her VA available of course.  But affecting the next game, I'm not so sure about that.  It's a major character, but that itself states that major changes can't be made.

Pretty much, I'm hoping for a side quest with some unique dialogue for Liaramancers, nothing more.  (Well, that, and more exposition on the past two years regarding LiLi's plight.)

Also, any effects of the Observer quest will be swept under the rug, I think.

If you helped Liara correctly guess that Nyxeris was a double agent, then you won't hear anything more about it. If you flubbed up or avoided the quest entirely, then Liara will tell you that she deduced by herself that Nyxeris was working for the Shadow Broker, and killed her. It won't have any major effect at all.

Agreed. Funny thing, though; there'll always be those who refuse to accept a simple hand-wave (when one is warranted, that is), and this seems like a perfectly acceptable hand-wave to something that the player really should have snapped up and done themselves anyway. Most folks are capable of reading between the lines...the problem is that sometimes they try to read too deeply...

*Edit* For those of you wondering, what I had in mind when I made this was Liara was assumed-direct-control of by a Reaper Sub-Entity. And the name Gemini came to mind. *shrug*

I will do something upbeat next, I promise!

One small question:
Who's Gemini?
