The background will be sort of abstract. I really want the focus to be on them, so I won't be doing anything that detailed or eye-catching behind them. I'm thinking something moody...

Regardless, you wouldn't see the background included in the line-art - I usually leave it til the end to decide what to include.

Almost everything during, before or after the love scene with Liara is perfect. When she confesses her love prior to it, her fear that she'll never see Shepard again and how much she means to her, the way Liara carresses Shepard's cheek before passionately kissing her, the way Liara looks deeply into Shepard's eyes before intiating the meld, the second passionate kiss, the way that after waking up Liara just stares and smiles at Shepard, before sitting up fully, the way Liara thanks Shepard for everything.

I love it!

You describe it so well.  The cheek caressing is another favorite part of mine...it's all great, actually!

You can say that again. The way Les described it, I can almost see it again, even though I haven't played ME 1 for quite some time. Reminds me again what a masterpiece ME 1 really is.

Who else is hoping that if and when we get a scene with Liara in ME3, there's a reference to finally getting their "round two"?

The "round two" response is my favorite, but only because of Liara's giggle. I love the giggle!!!!

But I love Hale's delivery of "You.... were... incredible" so much. Shepard sounds like part of her is still lost in the pink mist.
