Yeah, I'd love it if either Ashley or Kaidan were somehow worked into the Liara DLC or expansion. That would be ideal for all fans of the ME1 LIs.

Just imagine, both Liara and the surviving Alliance soldier as temporary squadmates, and you roll with the pair of them together. I'd love that!

They already have the system down where you *have* to take such-and-such squadmember with you on such-and-such loyalty mission. Oh, and in *both* games you have had squad members in certain parts of the game you can't have later (yes, I'm talking about Jenkins and Wilson:P). So the idea wouldn't be all that foreign.

They could do it except for possible squad balance problems you might run into forcing the player to take two people. I think Kaidan/Liara would be OK for tech and biotics, but would be weak on combat (unless Shepard is a soldier-type).  Ashley/Liara would have the biotics and combat, but no tech.  Would be good with a techy-Shepard, though.

Personally, I didn't find it mattered much who you took along and I basically just picked random people.  You shoot stuff, they shoot stuff, everybody shoots stuff.  However, BW would think about this.

This has been my experience as well. Biotics are great when they work out, but often needlessly complicate my life. So much easier just to see gameplay in terms of combat and biotics. Tech... I don't know what to do with tech.

Yeah, it's a hereditary thing. Benezia had them, grandma T'Soni had them, great-grandma T'Soni had them, etc.

They're not hair but markings, we believe. They just happen to be above her eyes and not on other parts of her face.

I always played tech in ME1 b/c the party needed a tech...not everyone had the ability to hack terminals or open crates.  In ME2, a Soldier has potentially the same hacking expertise as an Engineer or Sentinel :o

What I meant was, the game is more shooter focused, so it's not that important who you bring along as long as you are a good shot.    There are tech powers that remove armor and shields, but there are guns that do it just as well.

Maybe it was just meant to make her look a bit more attractive for human eyes, with her being an LI and all? Just like they obviously wanted to make her look less appealing in ME 2, to push everyone towards the new LIs.

I don't know it, I made it up.  I thought that was the consensus amongst Liara fans though...that her 'eyebrows' were just markings like other asari have.

Oh cool, I wasn't there for that discussion, at least I don't remember it. Oh well, works for me :wizard:

Well, yes, that's why the devs gave her the 'eyebrows', but how is it explained through the lore?

The mod that makes powers usable on shielded/armored/barrier'ed enemies is probably one of the best player-made augmentations to ME2.

Yeah, its amazing how one simple little tweak not only improves gameplay for non shooter players, but also addresses the inherent stupidity in armour somehow repelling the force of a singularity for example.

I'll admit that was a problem with ME2. Example, Lift was one of the best abilities in ME1, but in ME2, it's only good if you strip their armor or shields, and by the time you do that, you might as well just gun them down.

Anyways, change is change. Many old-school fans didn't like how Resident Evil turned from Horror/Action game to Action/Horror when RE4 came out, but the series became a million times more popular because of it (though I hated RE5 because of how Co-op killed the single player game, and thus I no longer care about that series. So I know how you feel). But like I said, change is change. Some people will like it, while some people won't. In ME2's case, I liked the change.

I think it's more of a way to humanize her a bit, and allow you to see her emotions better.

Yeah, I agree...the eyebrows help to convey emotions to the player.  That's still a design consideration.  I still wonder lore-wise, why they are there?  I'd still guess they are facial markings like other asari have, it's just that they happen to be above the eyes with this specific genetic line of asari.

Yeah, they are just a different design.  Purebloods are to have less facial markings than other asari but they do still have them sometimes.  Samara/Morinth lack any facial markings.

On insanity, that's not really true. Example, let's say you bring Garrus on a Blood Pack mission. Because Garrus only has Shield abilities, his attacks are useless because you're facing armor dudes. However, if you bring Mordin, Grunt, or Samara, then you'll be kicking ass. Now being those guys against Blue Suns or Geth. Feel the pain. But bring Garrus, Legion, Tali, and you're good to go. Kasumi and Miranda our great to bring to any mission, but not as good as bringing the specialist. etc.

I guess it's a family thing in the house T'Soni. Like the "Have you faced an Asari commando unit before?" threatening line.

Benezia had painted eyebrows, so I think it's more of a family thing. "We of the T'Soni's have Eyebrows!"

Nelyna and Saphyria (I suppose they are Erinya's daughters) had markings. Erinya herself had no markings...I don't know^_^

Maybe both Liara and Benezia's eyebrows aren't genetic markings, but tattoos? Perhaps Benezia gave herself eyebrows several hundred years ago for cosmetic reasons, because she liked the look of them? Then, when Liara was born, she had the eyebrows tattoed on to her as well, as she wanted the same look on her daughter. Conincidentally, they just happened to be identical to human eyebrows.

Or Liara wants to look really attractive-like to Shepard, thus mind-controls him/her into seeing her with eyebrows. lol

(watch the bachelor party to know what I mean).

I doubt the eyebrows are genetic, think it's just something Benezia and Liara had because they thought it looked pretty.

(watch the bachelor party to now what I mean).

Also a possibility

You know what's funny? Some people take that entire conversation between three drunken guys seriously! It's a joke!!

That picture of Liara on my Shepard's desk? She looks exactly the same as when I talk to her face to face.:P
