Shepard and Liara's bondmate ceremony would be incredible. Liara would look absolutely gorgeous wearing her dress, and I can imagine her getting quite moved by the whole event. I don't know what sort of vows the asari undertake in their bondmate ceremonies, but I imagine Liara would promise to stay by Shepard's side forever, and love her until the day she dies.

Wait... is this what i think it means?

My take on it..

Asari don't have a "ceremony" for becoming bondmates. They discuss it between themselves (the couple) agree that they both want it, and pledge their loyalty for how ever long it was agreed upon.
Although humans have a really bad track record for commitments and relationships, my Shepard will never break any pledge or vow she makes to Liara.

Oh right, of course.

The way Cartims wrote it, it made me think of that part in The Simpsons for some reason.

"Feels like I'm wearing nothing at all....nothing at all....nothing at all....nothing at all!"

Anyway, regarding what Sunnie said about human commitments to relationships, isn't it funny how the asari are smeared as the race that are seen as promiscuous, yet humans seem to sleep around and break off partnerships and cheat on their loved ones alot more than the asari do? Also, like Sunnie said, my Shepards would be faithful to Liara forever.

But never unfaithful. They generally stick to any agreement they make. Some just agree to mate and part ways, some just a few years, others for entire life spans. There are plenty of NPC stories you can pick up on through both games.

Liara does state that the asari are much more accepting of their sexuality than other species. She makes that comment in Chora's Den, so that should give context to the statement...

What Liara means there is that because physical contact is not the pinnacle of their sexuality, due to the fact that they reproduce by melding together and joining minds, that to the asari displays of physical sexuality and utilising their bodies is not frowned upon so much in their society due to the fact that physical intimacy is not the full extent of their sexuality, and how they reproduce. Because their true connection is mental, what other species would consider as something more sexual is more redundant and normal to an asari, due to the fact that their physiolgy allows them to ascend their relationships with their partners to a higher plane than mere physical contact.

Of course, that isn't the case with Liara as she's so atypical of other asari. Liara values physical touch too, and will only kiss Shepard if she is completely sure of their love and trust for each other, let alone enter into the asari union.

On a unrelated topic. I just had to watch Shep stare at the picture of Liara before the Omega 4 relay and I am now very sad.Image IPB

You know, when I had my first playthrough of ME2, and was reuniting with Liara, I wasn't expecting her to quote her mother or anything. But I will say this, that in my first playthrough, all that mattered to me was reuniting with her, and stay faithful to her afterwards. Plus, in ME3 there has to be something to explore into: inter-species marriage. If we all had the option to propose marriage to the ones we love, then for me, I would definately marry Liara. And another thing, when an asari's bondmate dies long before her, she treasures the memories about her and her mate. But would also still love them? Cuz I think that Liara would always love Shepard to death, and even after he dies, she still loves him.

And Dies......and Dies.......and Dies!

Oh, that's a joke about Shepard dying and being raised from the dead, nothing dirty (that's how I took it at least).

I'm don't think Cartims meant something dirty there.

LIARA LOVES SHEPARD REGARDLESS OF HOW MANY DEATHS THE COMMADER SUFFERS!!!!!
