I agree with this. It definitely means no more permanent squadmates that you can take with you through the whole game, but it doesn't necessarily preclude a temporary squadmate/partner.
As for the "Overlord" DLC, I hope it is connected to the story somehow (like say, Reapers tampering with VIs to make them rebellious AIs or something; yet another avenue of Reaper infiltration of the galaxy in advance of their return). Most of the N7 missions really don't feel like they're part of the main story at all. They feel like disjointed events.
I wouldnt bet money on anyone being a temporary squadmate,my guess is if there will be a DLC with Liara she will just stay behind her desk or just appear in the final confrontiation with the SB
As for the Overlord DLC I doubt the reapers will have anything to do with that unless the whole thing was an Alliance or Cerberus experiment to create an AI based on reaper tech some sort of advanced version of EDI
Since the reapers themselves have no physical presence in the galaxy anymore after Sovereigns demise, also if they wanted to infiltrate something I think they would stick to indoctrinated organics
I agree on the N7 missions being disjointed though, esspecially the lack of any dialogue really adds to that

In the case of Liara for example, say they release a DLC where you team up and take down the Shadow Broker. Since they can't let Liara go with you in the rest of the game due to the suicide mission (well, aside from making it a post-mission-timeframe-only DLC) they could have a conversation at the end where your Shep can ask Liara to come with him/her now that the SB is taken care of, but Liara could say something like, "I can't just yet, there are a few things I need to wrap up first."
There is a video on youtube using hidden audio from the game where Liara pretty much says exactly that. :-(
On another note:
If Liara was your LI, she can come back as permanent squad mate option and share your quarters. No additional space needed. XD
But yes, I hereby voice my support for Liara-comeback in ME 3 as squad mate and LI. Seriously. I need my Liara fix. My Shepard's gone completely renegade without her.

Ah yeah, I remember it being on a space station now. One of the puzzles was a variation on the old "beam of light and mirrors" thing.
Sorry, I don't remember much of ME2 as I've only played through it once.
Only once? That's sad. I've beaten it at least 5 times, and can't wait to go back (right now going through all the side missions in ME1, and bored out of my mind).
Anyways, though the story sounds "been there, done that", I'm very interested in the "5 missions on one planet", and being able to explore the planet with the Hammerhead. Might be going back to the old exploration planets in Me1.

Hmm, disappointing. That could mean Liara DLC has never been planned all along seeing as "this" is what the DLC team has been spending time on. Though as was mentioned yesterday no Liara DLC could be a blessing in disguise. Oh well, seeing as how waiting on Liara content was about the only thing keeping me coming back here guess I can stop checking back so regularly now.

But It's hard to get my Liara-mance and Kaidan mance through without getting utterly bored. THe game feels like there are two-gaping sized holes in the game. One Liara shaped and one Kaidan shaped.

Anyway, just because they've released this DLC, doesn't mean they haven't been working on the Liara DLC simultaneously. I imagine they have a few teams working on several different projects at once, and I doubt they develop all content one after the other.
The release of this DLC doesn't mean that the Liara DLC isn't coming out, not all. I'm waiting for E3, that's when I'm hoping to hear something.

Imo, IF there will be a Liara DLC then quite late, some half a year before ME 3 as an appetizer.
If the Liara content is part of an expansion pack, then I imagine it would be released shortly before ME3 so that it ties directly into the game and sets everything up for the events of ME3.
To be honest, I don't care how long the Liara DLC or expansion takes to be developed and released. I just want confirmation that something is on the way.

Yep, dont you just love the new improved cerberus lapdog Shepard.
The supposed retconning of Cerberus really was a great move, yes sirree. If they arent destroyed in ME3, it will be just one more colossal failure of the ME trilogy for me. I simply cannot stand Cerberus, I utterly detest them, and not because they are well written and ambiguous, but because they are poorly written, and represent the crappy railroading of ME2.

The 'plot' of it involves a Cerberus experiment gone wrong...can those stupid ***es do anything right? I want to destroy Cerberus not clean up their dumba** mistakes.

Seems I was right another Cerberus experiment blowing up in their faces and we get nothing out of it as it seems no new guns or armor thats weak gunning through all this walking tincans for nothing aside from maybe credits
I also agree Shepard being the obidient nearly unquestioning lapdog of Cerberus is really disapointing but Shepard is problem that goes through the whole game,or to put it better:mellow:
I bet we dont get they option of srewing them over if their is a choice at all in the DLC
As for Cerberus in general I would prefer them to be dead and gone, their role with reviving Shepard could have been taken by other factions as well and beyond that they really give me no good feeling same goes for some fans of them around here, but since we will need a clean slate for ME3 the novel might be a good way to kick them out of the story

Hello Marcin.
Yeah, the DLC has been announced, but it doesn't involve Liara at all. It's about a mission to stop a Cerberus AI that has gone rogue, and we get to explore uncharted worlds in the Hammerhead in a similar fashion to the Mako, apparently.
I'm waiting until E3 for any news of the Liara DLC.

We might be able to "screw" cerberus over in the same way we did in the operative N7 mission. I dont know if folks forget since it was so pointless, but after 99% of the was mission spent shooting, the final 0.8% was interacting with a computer terminal that said "keep the data, give it to the alliance (damage cerberus), or retun it to cerberus".
All in all it was completely pointless, and probably will lead to a slightly altered news report in ME3.
Thats the problem with ME2, and makes me believe Bioware retconned Cerberus - Any chance to "rebel" against them or screw them over is pathetically tame in the extreme. Even the final "up yours" to TIM was so weak, pathetic and more self-congratulatory than antagonistic towards cerberus ("Im so awesome, I DO THINGS MY WAY, AND YOU BETTER START GETTING USED TO IT"), not to mention followed by a trademark ****** smile from Shepard that I couldnt stand it.
The fact that Akuze isnt even linked to cerberus in ME2 is just unforgivable, and is a prime example of how bad ME2 is for some of these things.
Its amazing how much of the game was ruined and probably will continue to be ruined in pursuit of the "shooter fanbase" where more and more time is spent "precision shooting" from behind cover.
Sorry, I didnt take an interest in ME1 because it had TPS elements, I did it because I wanted to see Bioware take on the sci-fi RPG elements, story and characters in their own IP. Thats why I hate ME2, and why I doubt Ill be buying this clearly combat heavy DLC.
I think if an expansion pack ever gets released and it has a hefty amount of dialogue, roleplaying, and generally areas of gameplay where combat isnt necessary (like ME1 had in abundance), I might buy that. Otherwise Ill probably file this DLC as yet another Bioware DLC failure, with the only success so far being the first 1/3 of the Kasumi DLC (since the rest was combat). Roll on ME3 I say – not because I expect improvement and a return more towards what made ME1 great, but because Im looking forward to finally confirming if Im done with this series and company.

One thing that I do hope is somewhat elborated on too in the Liara DLC: her sudden ascent to being a powerful information broker in Nos Astra after only two years, and how Liara has suddenly amassed all of these contacts and sources in such a short time.
I suppose one could argue that a possible explaination was given by Liara herself. "Ever since I helped you stop Saren, people have wanted to be my friend. Or not be my enemy." Combine that with being Benezia's daughter and Liara being a very resourceful, intelligent and cunning person and it's something.

I would say this will never ever be really elaborated on in any case be it DLC/Expansion or ME3,as I said before her whole rise to power feels completely unrealistic esspecially that she rose to such a high level of prominence
I guess her "wanted to be my friend or not my enemy line" was deemed as enough explaination by Bioware, although I personally find it somewhat ridiculous
Who would want to be friends with someone that angered one of the most prominent criminals of the galaxy and risk the danger of angering him too, besides that we have the fact that Shepard is dead for two years and that is no big secret, while droping his/her name might open some doors I doubt it is enough to protect her from enemies since Shepard wont come to help her
Also we have the stuff that I pointed out earlier their have to be other broker on Illium, that are in the game far longer and they just let the new competition walk in and do her game, thats also quite unbelieable
And we have the SBs apathy which frankly I said it often enough is just weak writing
