I know we shouldn't be rehashing stuff over and over again, for sure.  Problem is, I discovered this thread when it was already eighty pages or so, IIRC, so I'm not sure what's already been said...

I'm a bit glad, in a way, that I looked in the forums before I started playing though.  Because I was set up for a worse downside to the Liara meeting than actually happened.  I mean, doing my best to stay objective here for once -- don't worry, though, I'll be going on about 'my favorite blueberry love muffin' in later posts ^_^ -- why does everyone love this woman so much?  For that matter, why do I?

Actually, I know that one right off the bat:

Alyna Shepard:  "Sounds like you want to dissect me in a lab somewhere."

Liara:  "What?  No!  I did not mean to insinuate ... I never meant to offend you, Shepard.  I only meant that you would be an interesting specimen for an in-depth study... no, that's even worse!"

 I totally melted.  Yes, I fell for geeky Liara, and really hard.  (Even at the end, where I got a ... somewhat better look at her... though I modified her from 'cute geeky girl' to 'cute sexy geeky girl' in my mind.)

I definitely know what you mean.
Liara is so adorable when you talk to her, she doesn't want to embarrass herself when talking to Shepard.
I always love to talk to Liara, I must have talked to Liara about the Asari over a hundred times so far.
My FemShep is in complete love with her (well, I guess I should say FemSheps, I only have FemSheps and I have never romanced anyone else but Liara).
You are delusional Alenko, stop asking if you are getting the right signals. There are no signals.
Liara is truly the cute sexy geeky girl.
I love The Beautiful Blue Goddess so much. <3<3:wub:

Dang, 111 pages!! Go Liara!

Anyway, just thought I would throw in my two cents and say if they decide to make Liara romanceable to players who didn't romance her in ME1 then the loyal players definitely deserve more. I sincerly hope the loyal Shepards who didn't cheat get a serious reward. I miss my fave Asari. :( I'm not holding my breath on Liara DLC to be coming any time soon but that's just my opinion. I don't wanna get my hopes up.

Agreed 100%. Loyal Sheps deserve some awesome reward (as I mentioned before many pages back, maybe Ahern's retirement place Shep won in PS  DLC for a weekend ) . And the Liara DLC? I am awaiting it hesitantly because I just can't help it. I miss Liara :crying:. But I see your point about not getting your hopes up too much, Bioware may just completely bomb it and it's better to just hold low expectations so you won't be too devastated.

Yeah, the DLC , I'm sure, will not be perfect.  I hope it'll be along the right lines -- adding at least the e-mail, and ... possibly patching Shep's animations in the 'I was afraid you'd hate me' reaction?  IF not adding the option to respond, "There's no way I could hate you, for anything, because..." -- though I have this weird feeling they're gonna make us wait for a certain four letter word for no explicable reason.  (Like Jo Rowling made us canonshippers wait until the LAST battle of the LAST BOOK to see Mione and Ron snogging, but that's a totally different story.)  Still, they could have LiLi cut us off if they're gonna be silly, either with an "I know" or a "Walls have ears" type of line, as long as there's a twinkle in her eyes when she says it.  (God, I'm expecting a lot from the animators, aren't I?)
I am not expecting a 'going shopping with my honey-bunny' scene, though -- it  really doesn't fit the tone of the series, does it?  (Maybe the old 'interrupted dinner' ploy, though.)  And I strangely don't mind too much if it's a 'can you take this guy out for me' thing, or even a 'let's take this guy out together' dealie.  (Well of course I don't mind that, right?  She'd pretty much become a party member then.)

I really like Liara. Both her and Tali are my two favorite alien chicks in the franchise. I hope that in the third game, I have both of them as squadmates so my canon Solider Shepard can be in perfect balance again(and so can I.)

I was bummed when you couldn't even take your squadmates into your new house.Posted Image  Microsoft points and killing baddies left and right, and they don't let me bring Liara into our new crib?

Yeah I guess a romantic getaway really isn't in-tone with the rest of the game, but can ya blame a guy for wishing? haha I think it would be ok though to have something small like how u could call up LI's to Shep's cabin after hitting the Omega 4, just with Liara and in the little apartment thing.

I see everyone wanting DLC for Liara. But I’m not so sure… I’m going to go out on a limb and say I DONT want it.

I can wait for ME3. Look at Zaeed as DLC, you can’t even have a conversation with him in the ship. I don’t want that for Liara. I would want to see her “in” the game, and not as some half assed add on.

The mar fact all DLC seems to come though the Cerberus network is a put off in its self. Liara, as DLC, though the Cerberus network?! No thanks.

I’m hoping the wait for ME3 will be worth it. I think any DLC for Liara would just take greatness away from what ME3 could be. Imo. Unless it’s something subtle, that can only build up the story for ME3.

Well if BW is looking at all these fan forums like they should be to get player input on stuff, people have posted a lot of what they hope for in Liara DLC. So, it would be pretty hard for them to screw it up, unless of course, they haven't looked at our opinions at all, in which case, yeah the Liara DLC would most likely and unfortunately suck.

I believe people are talking more about an actual expansion.
I don't think BioWare could do a Liara expansion like they did with Zaeed, there is just too much information left out and too much information to add. They need to do a full fleged expansion.
Of course, I would want the Liara expansion to focus on a deep emotional story, I honestly wouldn't care if there was only five minutes of fighting throughout the whole expansion, that would mean BioWare focused on the story and left the shooter gameplay behind. They have done more then enough of that in ME2, I didn't buy ME2 so I could play Gears Of War. (I bought it for Liara [smilie]../../../images/forum/emoticons/love.png[/smilie]) There are already more than enough of those mindless shooters out there. *cough* almost every FPS or third-person shooter ever made *cough*
The Liara expansion presents an oppertunity to rectify other missing plot pieces as well.
That would make the storyline for ME3 make a bit more sense. (Kind of hard after they wasted ME2's story, but it can be somewhat accomplished).
Although, I would want it to focus mainly on Shepard and Liara's relationship.

I completely and utterly agree with that in every way imaginable.
Liara completely, definitely and absolutely deserves it.

I'm just greatful that Liara even gets a special DLC, and her own comic book series! Just because she is special. No one else has their own comic book series. Comics > action figures

Let's hope the same devotion to the character lasts through ME3.

You have problems? I just watched 2012...I could have been playing a game. I thought I'd give ME1 a break, but I just sat through the worst movie I've seen in forever.....

It looked like they stole a scene from mass effect1 whne the intercom interrupted a kiss the first kiss...pretty damn close.

I have not seen it yet, how bad is it?

Is it Manos: the Hands of Fate bad?

Eraser Head bad?

Transforumer's 2 (shudder's) bad?

Hey everyone, just updated my story about Liara with a third chapter. The story title is "The Distance Between Two Stars". Let me know what you think...it is rather dark though, but I assure you the ending I have will give you some satisfaction even if you don't believe me now...

Also thanks for the great comments on this forum so far!

Hmm is your story posted anywhere else? I would like to read it but ever since I got some security tool virus from that site >.< (just got my computer back on Sunday)  I've been afraid to go on it again.

I've been thinking...

Liara in ME2 - became more GrimDark in order to satisfy people who didn't like her in ME1.
Tali in ME2 - became an LI and kept her old "sweet spunkiness" to satisfy people who DID like her in ME1.

I am SHOCKED that the fan response was so different for the two... Posted Image
