Am currently drawing Liara...first time I actually noticed that little purple "drunken-like" color on the tip of her nose :)

Yeah, drawing Liara is fun...she has many little subtle colorations on her face and head.

Ever noticed the faint purple shading around her eyes too? I like that.

Regarding Liara's attraction, IDK. To me, ME2 seemed to suggest that Liara's attraction to Shepard is still there regardless of reciprocation, that she hasn't moved on with it at all. It also ties into my theory that the ME1 LIs will be available to new, non-import Shepards in ME3. That would obviously involve finally reciprocating Liara's attraction, and developing a relationship with either one of Ashley or Kaidan.

This is why I'm interested in seeing how different the overarching romance would be to a new romance. The dynamic would shift completely. It would go from an atmosphere of overcoming adversity, to two people who've grown close after going through so much together. The dialogue would have to be dramatically different.

Depending on how it was written, I'm not sure which would feel more special. I'd probably pick the overarching romance, but the second is something I don't think Bioware has done before.

Now I'm thinking I should set up a NoMance Shepard through both games in preparation for ME3.

Very true, I do think the whole angle of Shepard finally reciprocating Liara's love could be very compelling. Imagine a Shepard without Liara as an LI speaking to her on Illium, and realising just how much she's done for her and how special Shepard is to Liara. This could really hit home to Shepard when Liara opens up, and says the "Because I couldn't let you go" dialogue. Imagine Shepard realising right there, and start to develop her own feelings for Liara. Shepard could be extremely touched by just how much she means to Liara, and the sacrifices she's made for her.

Imagine Liara's dialogue when you romance her for the first time in ME3. "Shepard...I thought that you would never look at me in that way. Especially after you insisted our relationship was strictly professional before." Could be quite touching to see Shepard finally reciprocate.

Copied and pasted from a PM from a while back:

Her personality, mostly. The fact that she's very compassionate, and caring about others around her. She even feels sympathy for Saren. Her devotion to things she's passionate about, namely Shepard and the Protheans. Her intelligence, and how smart and enlightened she is. The fact that though she is inexperienced with social interactions around others, she's very assertive and headstrong, and if she wants something, she'll go out of her way to acquire it. Her emotional strength, the fact that she doesn't allow her grief for Benezia to compromise the mission, or her devotion to see it through, and the fact that she hasn't allowed what's happened to Shepard and her guilt and fear that Shep will hate her destroy her, and is trying to put it right. The fact that she is so atypical of other asari, and only shows any kind of physical intimacy when she is absolutely sure of herself, her partner, their trust and love for each other, and that she is happy and contented. The fact that she went out of her way to bring Shepard back, desperate to see her rebuilt because she couldn't let go, and risked her life doing so.

That, and her voice, beautiful face, amazing body and gorgeous eyes also factor into it.

All of that, plus Liara's intelligence. That's what I love about Liara!

Hey, remember how this almost tore Liara's life apart, and what happened because of it is the reason why Liara is in so much pain emotionally?

Yeah. :crying:

After wrestling with it for almost five days, I finally finished this. Ehh, had to settle for a picture of Liara that I'm not entirely happy with, I had to edit it more than I would have liked. But it was a close as I could get. The level of frustration as I went through pic after pic was all but at the weeping-at-your-desk level.

Image IPB

If anyone has better pictures of Liara (with her head all there, if you would please, and preferably from ME2, but I'm not too picky) send it my way.

Goodwood would love to see this image as ME3 box art, complete with green colour theme. Green is his favourite colour, after all...

Afternoon, leeboi!

Indigo, I like it alot. These ME3 box covers/promotional posters that you're creating are great, I hope BioWare follows suit and that Liara is a poster character for the game. She's the only character from the previous two games that can realistically be featured in promotional material, after all.

That's how I'd actually prefer to play the romance  (the ME2 Liara scene would make more sense and be way more meaningful than the crap we did get), but I will wait and see if this is an option.

@ Indgo Wolfe. I like that very much! There is not too much ManShep and Liara art around. . . .
