Truth be told, I had thought of the teal color scheme even before I did that first poster. It just didn't work well with the tools and the pictures I had. I would have used it, in fact, I almost made a teal version, but then you came up with that and I spent the next day huddled in my basement with a tin foil hat clasped on my head for fear you would psychically steal any more of my ideas.
As for the elements, I don't know, maybe. Not conciously, I promise that much. Copying someone else's work is not something I make a habit of doing. And I think the overall looks is different enough from yours to be called original work in any case. It was actually a Liara version of a Shepley poster I made a few days earlier.

I admit, I envision Shepard as a female and love my FemShep, but I do not care if others want to play male. Just like, I don't care if others play Soldier (though it would be a cold day in hell before I'd play as one!)

I think that's what it is. A sizeable portion of Liara's fanbase are FemShep players, and are just apathetic to DudeShep. It's not that they hate him or anything, it's just that they don't care, and prefer the FemShep/Liara relationship.
It's nothing to get worked up or upset about. People prefer romancing Liara with a FemShep. Does that make DudeShep inferior at all and in any way? No.
