Just kidding.
Also, Liara wearing Feron's trenchcoat is daft. I'd prefer her to have an "N7" mark on her armour!

Someone else put it very well in another thread: ME 2 is like playing baseball with a violin - some people will find it "cool", but it's a lot of wasted potential.
That's a great analogy.
About Joker...I don't really blame him for doing what he did. It was the heat of the moment and he wanted to save the ship. He was grounded for it, which I think is fitting, and I don't think he deserved a court-marshalling.

It was not really in the heat of battle. Even before you gain control of Shep the situation is already out of hand, and everyone should abandon ship. Joker disobeyed direct orders.

Maybe he flew other vessels for Cerberus in the mean time.jlb524 wrote...

He did disobey the order, yes. I just think court-marshalling would be a bit much. Doesn't matter, he joined up with Cerberus for whatever reason. Though, it's odd...he just sat there for two years and didn't fly until Shepard was able to command the new Normandy.

I can easily see why Joker would join.LiquidGrape wrote...
I think both Joker and Chakwas' reasons for joining up with cerberus were hard to swallow.
Honestly; join up with a militant pro-human group known for its (ironically) inhuman reputation, and then spend the rest of the game feebly trying to disassociate themselves from the organisation?
Weak. Really, really weak.

To be honest, I don't care that Joker disobeyed Shepard's order. That doesn't bother me, he freaking loves that ship.
What annoyed me is his callous attitude to the fact that he's partially to blame for Shepard dying, and consequently Liara being in the predicament she finds herself in now. There's no apology, no remorse. Nothing. I know Joker is supposed to be the comic relief, sarcastic character, but the way they wrote his character for his reunion with Shepard was appalling. Made him pretty unlikable.
Wonder what Liara thinks of him?

Normandy 1 was Alliance ship and Joker was bounded to Alliance military rules.
So disobeying direct order of commanding officer is consider among military as 1 grade fellony for that you will end in life term prison without right to early release or appeal, however if you will have good advocate and he will be able to proven that disobeying order didn't caused more harm than benefit punishment would be kick out from military without any rights to post service benefits.

Anyways, here's something weird. Instead of getting the confrontation between Kaidan and Liara, the game seemed to just defaulted to Liara, because I unlocked her sex talk after finishing Kaidan's "I can't wait till we have shore leave, to get a chance to talk!" Which kind of suck, because I wanted to go with my original plan, which has "romance both, pick Kaidan, Kaidan dies, romance Liara in ME3". Now I'm debating to either go forward in ME2, or just redo most of my game.

Maybe they were quite leniet with Joker's punishment due to his role in defeating Sovereign? He did land the final, killing blow with the Normandy, after all.
Still, directly disobeying your commanding officer's orders, which results in her death, should have a pretty heavy price to pay. He got off lightly, IMO.
I wonder if Liara ever had to testify at some point?
