Well, I wouldn't say she saw him/her die, since in the beginning Redemption, she's still not sure if he really is dead or alive. But she saw the Normandy blow up, with him/her still in it. So there you go.

That makes sence, everyone saw the Nomrandy exploded, however there must have been a emotinal explsion when Joker steps out of the pod with no Shepard.

Yeah, I don't think Liara would have been able to see the body floating away and be able to distinguish it from the other ship debris.



Does she say she does see it in the comic? I can't remember.

All we know is that everyone saw it blow up and Liara went to find out what happen to Shepard, starting the events in the comic book. Ash/Kaidan went back to the Alliance, Wrex was not on the Normandy but heard Shepards death and went back to Tunchanka, Garrus while not on the Normandy also heard about the death and decided to fight crime. Tali went back to the Migran fleet, and became Vas Neema.

yeah i dont think she would have seen him die but in the end she finds out and saves him and if you keep her romanced you see her happy in ME2 if you choose right dialog =D

Well I am not going to give me thought on liara when she decided to get Shepards body, it will cause a flame war, but I beleive Jib and Somebody know my view on the game.

The comic shows Liara watching the Normandy explode while in her escape pod. She then tells Feron later on "I watched from my escape pod as Shepard died, Feron. This is my chance to redeem myself."

Only people we know that where on the ship was Ash/Kaidan, Liara and Tali.

Regardless of who you romanced in ME1, it seems Liara was on the Normandy when it was attacked by the Collector ship, and evacuated in an escape pod.

Then this is a major plothole then. No one knew if Shepard was really dead. No one could find him so they decided to officaly decalre him KIA but no one knew he was truly dead.

Oh, that's true.  Duh!

I do wonder why Tali didn't leave?  Is it possible she wanted to see the war against the geth through to the end, before returning from her pilgrimage?

I don't think Liara knew herself that she was actually watching Shepard die. She just uses that terminology because she had already been told that Shepard was dead, so in retrospect she was watching Shepard die, even if she didn't know that at the time.

Liara actually asks Feron if Shepard is dead or not. She didn't know beforehand. When she learns that Shepard is dead, she then realises that she was watching Shepard die. That's why she says that.

i would agree.. plus watching and knowing the ship is being destroyed and that shepard went to get joker she more than likely had that "gut" feeling and just needed to figure it out even after everyone would have said he is gone.
