Liara is finished......probably my best rendition of her yet.

That is some serious facial detail MDK. Excellent job, i envy all artists.....But i am a writer, art was not my destiny.

I think it's very much in her nature. Liara's very compassionate, and caring. I think it would definitely be something Liara would resolve to do, for Shepard's sake as she wants to pay her respects to her friend/lover, and for her own sake due to her guilt over the fact she blames herself for Shepard's death, and a desire to seek redemption.

For all Liara knows, though, the body is unrecoverable and can never be found.  I know she (along with the others) would prefer to have Shepard's body in order to give her a proper burial.  However, it's not practical to go looking for it when it could be completely destroyed.

I sitll think she was 'doing her thing' when Feron contacted her about it.

Hehe, aside from commissions - EVERYTHING in the pipeline features Liara for me at the moment...

I'll post a list of planned pics later, and you guys can vote on which one you want to see first.

If my next commissioner is okay with it, I may even do said Liara-related picture next, rather than after the commissions

Which is why Liara would have only made tentative enquiries. I'd imagine it was more out of hope than expectation, but she had to at least attempt it for the sake of her own conscience, and the desire to put things right, plus the hope that she would be able to find Shepard to pay her respects. Once she received a tip-off though that somebody on Omega could inform her of Shepard's whereabouts, that's when I imagine she resolved to find Shepard, and put her plan into action.

'Cause MDK was asking for suggestions as to additions to his own personal Freya/Liara canon. Plus, I really like his Freya with Liara in his art. Finally, I don't have any decent pics of my Shepard. That's why!

You pretty much got the color palette down pat. The profile's just right, too. But one thing I would look into is her expression. Correct me if I'm wrong, but she's suppose to have a relaxed expression, right? If so, then I'd tweak the height of the eyebrow, which seems a bit high for a relaxed expression. For me, it looks like Liara is going "Hmm" with her eyes closed. Speaking as an artist, if it were me, that wouldn't be what I would be shooting for.

Actually, relaxed is not the expression I was going for.

It'll make more sense when the full image is revealed.
