That annoyed me as well. What really got me was the the dialog (both Liara's and Shepard's) was the same after each incident. If they're going to have her get lightheaded 3 times, at least change the dialog a bit for each one. I think once was enough and got the point across that Shepard's Prothean visions are super duper intense and powerful.
Because the dialogue is repeated almost exactly each time, including the "checking up on me", Im thinking this was put in to cover for the fact that unlike the other characters, Liaras entry point into the plot is not "set". You can do those plot worlds in any order, and at each "briefing room scene" it could be Liaras entrance.
Thats basically my idea. It doesnt mesh with her character and feels forced, and the dialogue is recycled sometimes exactly, so Id say its less a Liara character issue, more of a ME1 plot structure issue.
I likewise didnt get the "weakness" vibe some people construct about Liara, I think some people have trouble with charactes who are soft spoken and generally quite peaceful people. Its the same with Kaidan, and all the flak he gets. He and Liara are the two most mellow and controlled characters in ME1, and they both get called "weak and boring".
Some people are just childish like that, and they need crappy characters like Jack or Grunt screaming "KILL KILL KILL!" to be "badasss", "independant", "strong" etc.
