I don't get why they had Liara feel lightheaded after you rescue her from Therum too. I get that she suffered a pretty trying experienced trapped in the Prothean bubble, and it was likely very physically exhausting, but why not just have her say that she feels fatigued? That way, they can only have her feel faint after she experiences Shepard's vision from the beacons for the first time.

Low blood-sugar, or whatever the Asari-equivalent is?   Presumably, she hadn't eaten for a while.

Well she should be somewhat weakened from being in that bubble for some time, though I dont remember was it ever established when the Geth arrived on Therum?

Makes you wonder how long Asari can go without eating. A human can only go for, what, couple of weeks?

Hungry, tired, and probably dehydrated. I don't mind her feeling faint, but four times was excessive for me. It made her seem far weaker than she really is. Tone it down and you remove 90% of my issues with her in ME.

She really should rescue you onscreen in ME3.

I hope so too.  Another Shepard rescue is lame.  :pinched:

yeah her rescuing you in the ME3 would be great. like something has you cornered and there really isnt much hope and then there she is from nowhere tossing your enemies around and saving you! followed by a deep kiss and scene after that =D

Why do I get the feeling if that happens a lot of people might be pissed, since Shepard is the maincharacter and still the hero of the story so rescuing is more his/her job then being rescued

all heroes need to be rescued at some point. no matter how good or tough you are.. there is always the need to have ppl around you that have your back!

Might be so,though I'm not sure if that would fit the picture that is placated of Shepard be it in the forums or by Bioware,I guess time will tell

As for rescuing Liara again I would say its unlikely, chances are the SB just gets gunned down in some DLC and even if not its not like he seems to care about the person that managed to screw with him on a level seemingly never seen before that much

That would be nice. Shepard's a bit too much of a Mary/Marty Sue for my taste. Tone it down.

Well, I'm off to work on the Liara/Miranda story. Might have an excerpt for you tomorrow. Wonder which thread will come after me with pitchforks and torches first? :P I do have very odd ideas when it comes to shipping.

That annoyed me as well.  What really got me was the the dialog (both Liara's and Shepard's) was the same after each incident.  If they're going to have her get lightheaded 3 times, at least change the dialog a bit for each one.  I think once was enough and got the point across that Shepard's Prothean visions are super duper intense and powerful.

Because the dialogue is repeated almost exactly each time, including the "checking up on me", Im thinking this was put in to cover for the fact that unlike the other characters, Liaras entry point into the plot is not "set". You can do those plot worlds in any order, and at each "briefing room scene" it could be Liaras entrance.

Thats basically my idea. It doesnt mesh with her character and feels forced, and the dialogue is recycled sometimes exactly, so Id say its less a Liara character issue, more of a ME1 plot structure issue.

I likewise didnt get the "weakness" vibe some people construct about Liara, I think some people have trouble with charactes who are soft spoken and generally quite peaceful people. Its the same with Kaidan, and all the flak he gets. He and Liara are the two most mellow and controlled characters in ME1, and they both get called "weak and boring".

Some people are just childish like that, and they need crappy characters like Jack or Grunt screaming "KILL KILL KILL!" to be "badasss", "independant", "strong" etc.

yeah will be interesting how they do this DLC content and then where it goes from there in the ME3 game. Im excited yet uncertain. Hope they pull this off well. I would hate for them to come this far and ruin the whole Lira mass effect thing for me xD

we are talking about changes in Liara, how we want to see her brought back in ME3, and what they could do with her to that extent. basically talking about Liara in ME3

I think Jack is rather vulnerable.

I don't think she's channeling her mother, who was acting the way she was due to indoctrination.  Her mother (pre-indoctrination) might be influencing her, though, as would be expected.

As long as she hasn't inherited her mothers dress sense I believe we're in the clear, regardless of what direction she'll take in ME3.

While that might be the case,I think that wasnt the point, its more that the whole "Liara is weak" thing seems to come from people associating being a bit naive and not ushering death threats in every sentence with being weak, while the opposite seems commonly seen as being "strong"

I've seen similar arguments regarding renegade and paragon Shepard on the old forums with the paragon mostly being accused of being weak bascily because s/he doesnt shoot people that dare to speak to him/her immidiatly<_<

And, on the other side, I find myself defending Liara against charges of being boring. She isn't. She's complex and interesting, even if it took me a while to see that.
