I think I would've stayed loyal to Liara in ME2 regardless of the picture scene, heh. I love her so much, I think she's the perfect lover, companion and soulmate for Shepard. Can't wait until next month, or perhaps in a week or so if they announce the DLC at the Game Developer's Conference.
I think this topic is overdue for another Liara pic. Here we go!
I played ME1 last night. Just finished up Feros. All that's left is Virmire and UNC missions. My ME1 play is going too fast

The game really has a bunch of holes to say the least, not just with Liara.
Take the first scene, the destruction of the Normandy,if the collectors really want Shepard so bad why do they risk vaporizing him/her by attacking the ship.
Even if you accept this as being their only possibility, why dont they check the wreckage for the body and capture the escape pods to check if shepards on board.
I dont buy that they were afraid of other alliance ships arriving and then they take out a whole turian patrol without any effort or damage.
All this just to hire the Shadow Broker a few weeks later to get them the body, while they could have it already.
I said this earlier about the Collectors and Shepard. It makes you step back and wonder if this is just a colossal screw up by the writers at Bioware, or they are planning to drop a nuke on all of us with this revelation.
No need to wonder... it's just one of the writers colossal screw ups. Some things are so ridiculous it's painful, you don't know if you are going to laugh or cry.

They didn't take out a whole Turian patrol. That was a fake message.
More ridiculous is the "they're going after earth" thing. One destroyer, admittedly a powerful one, took out the Collector ship, one on one. The Collector ship and there appears to only be one, would be crushed if it went after Earth. Maybe after they get a full Reaper, and some Geth heretic support, they might be able to. But on their own, which is what it sounds like: no.
The game is full of stuff like that which doesn't make sense. ME1 had some problems too, but they weren't as glaring. (Mostly in the "humanity has a fraction of the population of the major races, and has only had ME tech for 26 years, please think through what this means. No humanity is not a sleeping giant. Jeez.)

Totally. I'll never understand why the Reapers would keep a few Protheans around and repurpose them as collectors, but have such a small army that can barely defend itself. I mean look at the base, it had no defenses whatsoever, except those reaper balls (bad idea to call them that I know) which are able to be taken out on foot.

That is unfortunately a lesson no company ever completely learns. They may learn it temporarily, but in time they will forget.bjdbwea wrote...
True. Many games have such logical problems and plot holes, and many don't even try to be logical. And by itself ME 2 would still be considered a good space opera. The problem for me is that I can not "unplay" ME 1, which was - and still is - way above everything else in this (and many other) regards. Nor can I forget other past (BioWare) games. It is because of that impossible to get rid of this feeling of disappointment when playing ME 2 and seeing all the steps back. I felt the same occasionally when playing DA in comparison to BG 2, but not nearly as much as with ME 2.
Companies will invariably try to ride on the coat tails of their past achievements.
BioWare might get a sense of the storyline ME2 being sub par (in comparison to ME1) in time for ME3, but it depends on how much they care about their loyal customers and how willing they are to put their hearts into the game again.
Rectifying a problem will, more often than not, win back the hearts and minds of your fans.
@LesEnfantsTerribles: I will always have that badge of honour.
Unless, in the Liara Expansion, we get to invite her up to the Captain's quarters after the 15+ hour (I am hoping for 50+ hours) deep emotional storyline is finished.

Yeah, in KotoR 2 little made much sense because content was so obviously missing, just like in Liara's scene. And come to think of it, Kreia's reasons were just as laughable and far-fetched as those from the collectors. Yet overall KotoR 2 was still much worse and more disappointing than ME 2 in my opinion.
Agreed!

There's a lack of room in the sig space for both the stamp and the banner, and I want to keep the latter in my sig with the link to the Liara Fan Club.

I was much more dissapointed by ME2, even though I totally realize it was a better game overall. I guess its about expectations.

True enough. I tried to fit it in and couldn't. I retract my statement.

If you guys want this there's a couple options. I can try shrinking it a bit to get it to fit in a sig, or I could take my original banner and tack this on the side of it so it's still one continuous image. Let me know if you want me to do that. It should take only 10 minutes either way.
