There was not alot of focus on the characters at all in ME expect for Garrus and Wrex.

Are you serious? I know they are your favorites (and we completely disagree on Garrus^_^), but Garrus and Wrex were optional in ME1.
ME1
Liara: mind reading
Tali: the evidence

ME2
Miranda: Lazarus project
Modrin: science/Horizon

There is no difference imo.

And guess what, Liara and Tali didt have alot of edv. Liara was only needed to find Illos other then that, alot of her conversatinos was her flirting with you and telling you about Asari and Tali was a walking textbook. Garrus nad Wrex had alot of dev in the game and not to mention that Wrex plays a huge part at Sarens base. You did't get Wrex or Garrus or killed Wrex then shame on you.

Well if you read alot of the planets in the century systems, there is many things that talk about a battle that was 20 to 40 million years ago. Thats where the Dead Reaper is. It is poseable that a orangic race decided to build the Reapers and it backfired on them. What we know of the Reapers is that they need organics to reproduce, they like inseect like races (Keepers, Rachni and turned the Protheans into Collectors) and they can indoctrinate people, also theres the thing with the Throain. A Thrioan could heal indoctrination, it could be poseable that it had somethig to do with the Reapers

I was thinking along the same lines. or it could be simply just stating the known fact of this cycle has gone on for a very long time but i think it will have more of a role in ME3

He's a reaper agent (similar to Mr. Morden in Babylon 5), seeking to play the citadel races against one another...I hope:devil:

I kind of wonder if Bioware is actually going to explain the origins of the Reapers. It's a pretty tall order to do in one game considering we know basically nothing at this point (we know how they reproduce, but not where they came from). Additionally, part of what makes the Reapers a great enemy is the total aura of mystery. Once something becomes knowable it becomes, if not mundane, at least less threatening.

I do think Prothean tech still has a role to play and Liara (as the only assured surviving party member) will be there to help Shepard decipher it. It makes sense for Bioware to play to Liara's strengths in terms of plot since she's guaranteed to be there imo.

I still wish they would have stuck Liara on Ilos for ME2 and had her further research the Protheans and their Reaper/Collector connection.   Instead, they stick her behind a desk on Illium, hunting the SB (who, at this moment, doesn't fit into the main Reaper plot at all).

i imagine it fits their larger plans we cant yet see in ME3

Okay, who wants some avatars? I've been having trouble with the setup of custom avvies myself, but here's some for y'all to use yourselves.

Image IPB

I may do a glowing eye version of this one.

Image IPB

Evil Liara, what can I say? Still an idle piece of whimsy that keeps knocking around in my head.Image IPB

Image IPB

Basically a avatar version of my Mass Effect 3 poster.

More coming soon!

And just FYI, I'll may be taking a leave of absence from this thread in the near future.

Yeah, there was so much of Ilos that we never got to see that it would've been nice to have a reason to go back. It also would have made a lot more sense for Liara character wise and would have given her a more convincing reason for not accompanying Shepard on the suicide mission in ME2.

And honestly, since no one on the council seems to be able to piece together a single thing about the Reaper/Prothean connection, it would seem they need more competent scientific advisors.

Doesn't one of the planetary descriptions in ME1 state that there's a cult that believes in a race of deities that will rise up to protect the galaxy from an ancient race of machine devils, or something like that? Could that play a part at some point?

What I think is a distinct possibility in terms of Liara's large plot role in ME3 is that she'll discover that the Shadow Broker was in possession of knowledge that could help to defeat the Reapers, or expose one of their weaknesses.

Well, I hope it turns out that way as it would tie Liara back into the main plot.

Liara and the surviving Alliance soldier are all going to be reintroduced into the main plot and story in some way in time for ME3. In Liara's case, what better way to accomplish that then have the Shadow Broker be a pawn of the Reapers?

I wouldn't look too much into a cult's belief.    :D

I would love this <3

Thanks, I think I'm gonna use evil Liara, I like that picture.  And I hope you figure out how to do custom avs soon.
Remember to make the avatar picture file Read-Only before you make your character.

I really like Wrex; his "war stories" are great but the character development was between ME1 and ME2 (imo)
ME1:merc
ME2:he took responsibility for his people

And why not Ashley?
She has a personality...religion, aliens, poetry
You don't have to romance her

Liara and Garrus: I doubt we'll ever agree here:P

There are quite a few planetary descriptions that could pertain to the Repears or some sort of chekhov gun for their destruction. It would be great if the SB had some insight like that, it would bring Liara to the fore again in ME3.

The thing is, if bioware can't bring back the ME2 characters because they don't want to gorw balls nad risk it then we won't see Liara, Ash and Kaidan back in ME3 expect for cameos. The reason why is the backlash for that would be huge. If Liara, Ash and Kaidan get closure and there romance is done well but the ME2 LI are not then not only is Bioware telling fans that they where just flings, but it would be a quick in the quad to the people like me who cared for the characters and prefre Miri then all the other romances. I don't want to go back to Ash, I want Miri.

No we won't :P I did't like Liara that much in ME, I liked her more in ME2. I have always been a fan of Garrus :wizard:

And for the Alliance Soldier, they could do something with the data in Kasumi's Stolen Memory. I'm of the mind it has to do with the Reapers. Did anyone else recognise the image of the Reaper --looked like Sovereign-- in the greybox images?

Wait, getting slightly off topic.

That would be the most obvious way....don't know how they're going to reintroduce AshyPoo and KaiKai.

Maybe the Alliance finally pulls their heads out of their bums and decide to ally with Shepard.  They would want to send one of their own on the missions so who better than someone that has served under Shepard in the past?

I was hoping it would have prove that Cerberus never left the Alliance, but after seeing that image I was disapointed :(

LesEnfantsTerribles is right they will make a comeback. They left the option for you to remain romanced to them and if you went otherwise that was your own decision. They made ME2 for new ppl to the ME world as well. that being said those ppl could form a relationship and for those who wanted to leave their ME LI they could. I confident they WILL be back in ME3 as LI and Squadmates

This is where I think the big cheating thing might come into play. I cheated on Ash with Miri, after there fight and I pick one of them, I think then we should lose that person for good, they go back to working behind the scenes but not joining your team.
