Pretty soon, I will be creating a new Shepard. An Engineer named Jennifer. However, I'm going to be playing a Renegade for the first ever time.

I do think the idea of a Renegade Shepard romancing Liara is pretty interesting. She's a rude, obnoxious, selfish and egotistical biatch to everybody else, but she absolutely adores Liara and would never say anything hurtful to her. I like that!

I would have suggestd you play a male Shepard if you are renaagde, Hale does not do a good job with it, sounds too forced.

Destroyingt he collector base is going to bite us in the ass, I just know it, I still blew it up because I don't trust TIM but it's going to bite us in the ass. Hope it does too.

The few times I start a Renegade play through I always reach some decision early on that just breaks me, and I gravitate towards the Paragon response. It just spirals from there as I keep going Paragon.

Edit: found the interview. He just says he thinks Miri is simpler than Jack. People are reading too much between lines (or I´m not reading enough).

But is she simpler? I wouldn't exactly call Jack "complicated" either. Her character as such certainly is, but in-game? Letting characters scream insults doesn't add depth. And her "redemption" in the end feels very artificial and shallow too in my opinion. Those are interesting concepts, but if you don't invest the effort to make it real (primarily through more dialogue), it's better to stick with the simpler characters. But maybe that's just me, apparently many people found the characters in ME 2 detailed and believable. Mr. Hudson certainly seems to believe that. Well, whatever.

I do wonder though what would happen if one of those interviewers would dare to ask a critical question some day...

A critical question in an interview? Not going to happen.

I do find ME2 characters good, the loyalty missions added a lot to most of them (save Jacob, daddy issues?), so it kind of made up for lacking ship dialog. The derailment the ME1 LIs went through to make people cheat is really the only BIG problem I have with ME2. You ask the Virmire survivor to commit desertion if they come with you, but what´s written is a what the hell hero and Shepard just staring and leaving. Liara is a trap all along... and Shep again is missing obvious dialog (not that it´s the first time Shepard and Liara go through this. Remember what happened in ME1 when you did Feros before Noveria). It´s just forced to make you cheat.

I don't beleive in Paragon and Renagade, it's all about Paragade.

Thing is, Jennifer is going to be a total biatch, but she's going to ultimately do the right thing, and make the Paragon choices for the major decisions. She'll save the Destiny Ascension, spare the Rachni Queen, neutralise the Zhu's Hope colonists via non-lethal means, spare Shiala's life. She's just going to be a total jerkwad. She'll be nasty to Conrad, she'll intimidate Wrex on Virmire, she'll argue with the Turian Councilor, she'll punch Khalisa al-Jilani. She's going to be a total biatch!

Regardless, she's going to be stupid in love with Liara too. :-)

I don't remember anything bad. I always do Feros right before Noveria (and after Therum,of course). What happened?

I played like that to see if I could get a full renegade bar. Only chose to capture Balak over the hostages in BdtS. The save Council renegade epilogue it´s my favorite.

Kinda, yeah. But heavily leaning towards Renegade. She'll do the right thing, but be ruthless and egotistical about it.

NOTHING. You know about indoctrination from someone who has just been broken free and the only thing that changes is that you tell Benezia you already knew. Wouldn´t paragon Shepard and Liara try to get through the indoctrination before/during the fight? Bound to fail, but good drama and way better than the thing with Liara saying her mother she´s gone evil.

Yeah, I've seen that on YouTube. Sovereign's Theme playing in the background was a really nice touch I thought. It added to the somewhat bleak and ominous atmosphere.

The Full Renegade ending, with Udina plotting to establish the New Terran Empire is pretty chilling though. The theme used for that scene should have been The Imperial March! :D

Wonder how Liara feels about Shepard willingly sacrificing the Council so that humanity could exert it's power and influence over the galaxy? Would she have been somewhat justified in her earlier fears and wariness that humanity is an aggressive and expansionist species?

I've played a Shepard like that too once, but who sometimes even forgot to be nice to Liara. For example, during the locker scene, you can give a rude answer once, then Liara will be kind of sad, but Shepard can apologize and you still get the proper continuation of the romance.

I am also a dick at the begining oft he locker scene, it just fits the moment. Same as why I ask Miri in ME2 if it's only me or are you always this bi*hy :wizard:

Yeah. A Renegade, but one who ultimately does the right thing and makes the major Paragon decisions.

Tali´s and Liara´s tastes in men are weird playing full renegade.

Anderson taking the council seat basically saying "we´re going to show you how to save the galaxy" is badass.

As much as i goes through ME 1 as pure paragon (not even Udina is able to turn Allish on the dark side) that in ME 2 i decided (assuming that i will find in off will power to go through ME 1 once again to import her to ME 2) to go Paragade and so far... it's writen on the stone tablet now that in this run at least one of the ME 2 characters won't comeback from C-Base...

After the fight Shep and Liara do try and get through the indoctrination with Benezia. But Saren's influence is to strong she says. I understand what you mean though, talking with Shiala first on Feros should have had deeper dialog with Benezia.

That´s my point. They should have tried from the beginning, not when she´s half dead.

There should have been unique dialogue between Shiala and Liara too. Seriously, no words are exchanged between Shiala and the only child of her mentor that she has followed for centuries? Missed opportunity there, BioWare!
