There should have been unique dialogue between Shiala and Liara too. Seriously, no words are exchanged between Shiala and the only child of her mentor that she has followed for centuries? Missed opportunity there, BioWare!

Bioware gets lazy alot of times, look at Miri and liara. I was disapointed they said nothing to each other, it made no sence because last time I cheacked they know each other since both where part of getting Shepards body back.

Exactly, kraidy. Have you by any chance read the last issue of Redemption? At the end, Miranda is very comforting, warm and reassuring to Liara. They definitely have a mutual respect for each other, it seems.

The fact that the pair of them have no unique dialogue with each other during the Liara reunion on Illium is just mind-boggling. Same thing with Garrus and Tali. Wrex doesn't acknowledge those two either. Nor does Anderson. Argh!!

Agreed, if they recognised each other that would have been a nice little twist in the Liara sub-plot of ME1. Shiala could have mentioned a little back story about Liara. That would have be sweet to hear.Image IPB

yes i read the last issue, and I just don't get it. Both Miri and Liara while they don't see eye to eye on things respect each other on many ways. Both are smart, determined and amazing in taking care of them self. Not to mention both dev  strong feeling for Sheprad.

Not to change the subject, but just finished a playthrough.  Probably old news, but I went to the Citadel after the Collector Base (main game ending) and listened to the news.  Got this:

"According to sources, whatever former Commander Shepard is doing involves surrounding herself with criminals, killers, mercenaries and other dangerous elements.  We at Galactic News hope that she consents to an interview to explain where she’s been and  what she’s been doing. "

Sources?  Most likely TIM.  I would think that Shepard may need a friend just as much as Liara will.  Perhaps they will be friends together.

It's also kind of silly that neither Tali or Garrus have any unique dialogue with Liara. As members of the original Normandy team they went through a great deal together, and it would have been nice to have that acknowledged by a line or two of extra dialogue.

I think fact that she was deadly wounded actually help her to break for a brief time indoctrination shackles.

However i still think that there was a small "contribution" to that fact from side of the Rachni Queen.

If she was able to "revive" that dead Asari Commando then she could help Benezia to break free until Saren didn't activated his "control chip" once again.

And the very last moment of her life still makes me sad despite many runs... Benezia knowns that save her was too risky for Shepard since she could comeback to "Sith Lord" modus (and from that part i started to assuming that Saren did implement her some sort of control chip) so she decided to end her life there.

I wonder if Lia watching how her mother passes away would accept similar to Tali's hug interrupt?

And fact that after those events even Ash says that i should go to speak whit Lia indicated that she was touched too.

Or with Wrex, Garrus and wrex should have said something to each other for crying outloud. Bioware tends to get lazy, it's in all there games, not just in ME and ME2.

Oooh, TIM has been leaking stories to the media? Bastard!

Like you said Jamie, both Liara and Shepard can find happiness again in each other's arms.

I've never got that message before. I wonder if it changes depending on your choice at the end? Did you destroy the base or keep it for TIM?

TIM said Liara was working for SB too. And kept a derelict Reaper a secret, and so on. He plays humanity first with the galaxy at stake, the idiot.

If that message is after destroying the base then he´s trying to alienate allies needed for ME3. Did you recover SPECTER status? If not the Council is also a good candidate.

TIM flat out lying about Liara at the beginning of the game is something that is never explored either. I theorise that it's because TIM doesn't want Shepard to know of what Liara did for Shepard in terms of recovering the corpse, and therefore is trying to keep the pair of them apart. He's trying to make it so that Shepard doesn't trust Liara, he says as much himself.

That's TIM for you, I already knew she was not working for the SB because well even the first comic issue pretty much shows she is trying to get Shepard back from the SB.

I must have missed that part or I simply wasn't paying attention. When does he say that?

When you ask him about all your former teammates, he tells you something like "My sources say that she's working for the Shadow Broker, if so she cant be trusted".

Yep. Funny that, isn't it TIM? The fact that Liara risked her life to recover Shepard's body from the Shadow Broker so that your organisation could get it's filthy hands on it must have slipped your mind, huh? <_<

Good work, Iglo!

I've said it before, but any possible relationship or friendship between Liara and Samara could be very interesting indeed!

I knew TIM was lying about Liara working for the SB the very second he said it.  It sounded so outlandishly out-of-character for her to do that, that I remember thinking to myself, "Oh, man, what the hell did you do to Liara's character, Bioware?"

And then I actually met Liara on Illium.

Things didn't get any better until I found out after-the-fact about the "secret" conversation option.
