Jack is a nightmare if your playing male and have no intention to romance her, Tali have nothing to say. Miranda is the only one you can shut down and without feeling like a complete ass. Garrus is just calibrating the guns all the time if you play male.

I like Miranda. I definitely wouldn't mind her on the squad in ME3.
I liked Miranda when she told TIM to shove it (I brought her on the final fight) and joined up with my crew. I wasn't expecting that, and it was a total surprise. It changed how I viewed her.

Jacob can be turned down pretty easily by the third time or so you talk to him. After that he becomes drinking buddies with Shepard.
I never really talk to Thane, but it is easy to turn him down.
Garrus is the only one I stopped talking to out of fear of him suddenly trying to rape my FemShep... Garrus is cool until then. At least I know I can turn him down now and he can go back to calibrating the guns, lol. I guess we would stay friends after that, but he probably wouldn't say...
Everyone else just stops talking to you right after the loyalty mission.

What I have heard it may be some similarities there yes, have no idea if you can shut Jack down without getting a million Renegade points. I just stop talking to her after the loyalty mission.

I think having Shepard by her side is paramount so she won't get consumed by vengence. Liara definitely needs that emotional support. Just like how all the Liara fans wish they could say more when she talks about getting Shepard's body back. She has definitely been wore down by emotion.

My last two attempts (male and femShep's with Liara romance) I basically just went through the game talking to no one. Was boring as hell. BW games really are pretty terrible without any connection to the characters.
