york86 made it and posted it here some time ago, I couldn't resist and took it and made the motivational.

Just love Liara's annoyed look. However I wonder why she gives it you from inside the bubble.

I'm getting so tired of some people saying Liara is boring. She isn't. She's one of the most complicated characters of the trilogy. Even before her character development in ME2, there was more to her than meets the eye. She has a rebellious streak and is determined to find her own path instead of following her mother's. But she rebels in a very intelligent and constructive way. She becomes an archeologist, not a merc or a dancer. I find that interesting. Add in ME2, and I just want to take her apart and figure out how she works.

Huh, just been watching Casino Royale (never gets be bored) and an odd thought entered my mind: what if Liara's intro into ME 3 took the form of a gun-barrel like sequence? (of course the assassin is either a Reaper-indoctrinated soldier or a merc assasin) Thoughts?

This has to do with the audience. No explosions for five minutes, it's boring. A character isn't in-your-face "cool", he's boring. "Normal" characters are boring. "Long" conversations are boring. Depth is boring. Thinking is boring.

Mr. Woo graced me with a few responses in another thread recently, and even though he didn't answer the more interesting questions, he confirmed they had to make ME 2 more "immediate", probably because of that kind of attitude. You can see the results everywhere.

The "immediate" thing seems to be around all media nowadays. Even videogames start to feel like movie blockbusters. 80´s action movies are dramas compared with today´s. The character ads for ME2 made me expect much worse than we got with the "see how cool and badass they are" but came across one dimensional. There was much more to most of them in game fortunately.

It was called "BioWare is best" or something like that. The conversation started because I remarked how usually only threads like that are graced by an official response. A few interesting insights, especially if you read between the lines. Nothing spectacular though.

I like Liara and the ME2 team (well, except for Garrus and Grunt). Found them all fairly deep and interesting.

Interesting. Would like to know why they can´t talk about things affecting gameplay or some story points. There are quite a few minor points in the game when some dev must have said "this is a bad idea".

This is probably the largest reason why ME2 is the way it is, and why ME3 will be even worse. Sad to say...
