I absolutely agree, those "stoppages" were an important part in the game. I liked the Citadel, I liked the elevators, I even liked such small details as actually leaving and entering the Normandy. It's what made the game feel like one whole. But as he said, they have to make it "immediate" now. That sums it up quite well. Immediate action, immediate rewards. But little substance. I told him that I don't like it, even told thim that it feels to me as if they're abandoning their old fans. He says they don't and won't. We'll see.
Is this related to Liara? Maybe somewhat: Were the ME 1 LIs too complicated? Is that the reason they're not in ME 2? Are they going to be more "immediate" too if they're in ME 3?

I am speaking in general terms of course, i understand how the minor role Liara played in ME2 may be annoying to the fans out here (i include myself), but still i think the game as a whole was a worthy sequel.

I too am waiting for the real ME2, there were just too many things I found wrong with what they did with ME2. Don't get me wrong, I like ME2 ok, but it is nowhere near how great ME was overall. We seem to be a minority in BWs eyes, so don't expect anything to really change for ME3...bjdbwea wrote...

And I disagree. Strongly. And not because of the whole Liara situation. If only it were "just" that. There are too many steps back, too many cut corners, too many important things removed, too many occasions of bad writing. I'm still waiting for the real ME 2, maybe ME 3 will be it.
Anyway, back to the topic...

I understand your concern, but still i think ME2 (with it´s many flaws) has improved many things over ME1. Apart from the obvious ones (graphics, animations, user interface, controls etc.) they have also improved upon the characters. In ME1 Wrex had a "loyalty" mission to get his family armour, or Garrus with dr. Saleon. On ME2 that concept was expanded a lot more to add very depth personal missions that make you know more about the character.
What i mean is that yes, i can see where ME1 was better (i was also very annoyed that the citadel was a stupid 3 floor market) but i still believe ME2 is an improvement over the first game. At least for me the story was good enough and the gameplay made up for the rest. I honestly enjoyed ME2 a lot, nearly as much as i did ME1. I am speaking in general terms of course, i understand how the minor role Liara played in ME2 may be annoying to the fans out here (i include myself), but still i think the game as a whole was a worthy sequel.
Anyway just to put something more liara-related, i bet many of you have already watched this video, but still i find it interesting, may have hints of what is to come.
Holy smokes! That alone could be a book in and of itself... My Shep and Liara were inseperable, they shared everything there was in ME, the good and the not so good.jtav wrote...

I've been doing some additional thinking about my story while I wait for clarification on a couple of canon points, so I was wondering: if Liar had to pick a moment to illustrate her relationship with Shepard and why she loves him/her, what would she pick and why?
It's an easy typo, don't be so critical, or rude about it...Turdmuncher38 wrote...

She never smiles like that for me...I just watched that part with a romanced and nonromanced Shepard....it looks the exact same.

Actually, with the new patch, 1 hour of scanning means no need to scan ever again. And's it's actually fun to do, if you play some music or a podcast.

Not really. I romanced her and she doesn't smile on that part. I have seen a few videos of it, and in some she does smile and others she doesn't. I have no idea why, but it's not b/c of the romance. But it's a very cute smile

As far as we have been able to tell, 360 users get the smile, PC don't.. it could also be the male/female Shep thing too... But so far everyone sayign they see the smile are playing on 360, I believe.Larask wrote...
