Can we drop this crappy comment about "Miri being simple" now? Im sure its being heavily discussed in the Miranda thread. Like I already said though, weve had "the ME2 romances/squad are more compelling" so its not like were going to blow a gasket because Casey thinks Miranda is "simple".



If he thinks shes "simple", maybe he should have pushed to have the "gratuitous Miranda ass shots" removed from conversations.

On the other hand, there is clearly a physical component to her relationship with Shepard, and I can't imagine they'd be as sexualized as they are if they weren't capable of having and enjoying coventional sex. The level of intimacy implied by the melding (even one not for reproduction) would be something some people have to work up to.

Well, she does exclaim, "By the Goddess!" I think it is left up to the player.  BW is playing such a delicate game w/ Liara (because she can be w/ femShep) that there is still so much left up in the air.  The codex states that Asari are not asexual, yet Casey Hudson labeled them as such in an interview some time back.  PR spin or not, I think Liara's "tastes" are left ambiguous on purpose … at least for a time.

The "asexual" thing grates because it's so obviously wrong. They aren't biologically asexual because they require a partner to reproduce and clearly feel some form of sexual desire. So not asexual in that sense either. I might be willing to argue that they aren't female in terms of gender because they don't conceive of gender identity the way we do (though their sex would still be female) But Casey was clearly not thinking on that level and was just trying to dodge the question.



Thank you for your help, jib and LET (and thanks for the link, LET). Miranda has trust issues (understatement of the century) so the meld is a Big Deal I'm saving for near the end. Getting these two into something that works should be intersting.

Oh wow. I wonder is Garrus fans thought anything about what he said too.

Some liked it, but some where very pissed off when he said he was suprised people liked it because it was not a true sex scene. This got alot of Garrus fans pissed, this givest he impression that HE was made a lI simply for fan sercive, I know he was but that still is kinda hurtful to the fans.

Yeah, Casey is one of those guys where, it says "Project Director" in the credits, but that doesn't mean, "I'm the visionary dud of this franchise", like say Kajima, or Shinji Mikami. Seems more like the games are good because the team is good. Thus, everyone on the team has a "We're making a Tali romance? Really?" "People liked that romance?".

We came up with a good way of describing asari gender a few pages back...

All asari are female; not all asari are women.

Looking very good. This picture seems to be going a bit further than the ME 1 love scene or your previous works, but it seems to be tasteful and respectful of the characters.

Man,I don't know about Casey Hudson sometimes. I always thought he was charismatic and an all-round pretty cool guy, I had a lot of respect. Now he says these things, its like he doesn't care about the repercussions of his actions, or something.

I had resepct for him, until the asexual thing, then other things that came after that made me facepalm.
