I wish we actually knew this was going to be the case. :(

There is honestly no explaination whatsoever one could come up with that explains Shepard's complete and utter stupidity when meeting her.

Other then Bioware is planning something, or just quickly threw the scene together after cutting so much out of it to try and keep us quiet while they waited for the comic book series to be released and put out an expansion that rectifys everything.

I honestly thought Shepard would have jumped her desk as soon as she saw her and embraced eternity, lol.
(No, you can't watch Jacob you sick F**k). I'm sorry for the Jacob comments, I just like making fun of him.

Guess. No, really. It's been stated they're planning something, and until the end part of the story is revealed, we're just jumping at shadows. Patience is a virture, despite the..poorly..handled second act.

There should also be a Renegade interrupt that involves grabbing Liara and kissing her passionately. It should trigger after she threatens to smush the SB into a coffee cup.

Shepard: 'Oh, I like it when you talk all ruthless!' *grabs Liara and kisses her*

Nice.  I like your style.

Shepard: 'Oh, I like it when you talk all ruthless!' *grabs Liara and kisses her*

Liara:  *Puts up token resistence without really resisting*  "Shepard, not here.  We're being watched."

Shepard:  "So let them watch."

Liara:  "Oh Shepard!"

*They put the first reunion kiss to shame.*

I'm pretty much certain that Liara DLC will be coming. Liara's role in the game was originally alot greater, before they released her story of recovering Shepard's body on a whole different medium. I'm pretty sure hopeful we'll see DLC with Liara as a temporary squadmate, as was originally intended in the game when she accompanied you to take down the SB.

That's something that confuses me, actually.  If she was going to be a temporary squadmate and help take down the SB, what excuse would BW have for leaving her out of the suicide mission after you took the SB down?

The excuse was she had to read through the SB's data to see if she could find any information on the Collectors and how to defeat them. :?

Kind of glad they did drop that part since it was really stupid.

There's something quite uniquely romantic about taking cover next to Liara during combat. <3

Absolutely!  I couldn't agree more.  Every so often, while in the middle of a battle, I'd take a moment to look over at Liara and just watch her.... and sort of say to myself "We're in this together, beautiful."  That sense of true companionship is missing from ME2, and leaves very little replayability in its place.

Yeah, definitely.
All you have to do is look at the information logically and Liara DLC coming makes sense.
Ususally companies try to follow logic as to make as much money as they can.
Lets hope they make it epic.

Yeah, the reason that BW was going to give that Liara couldn't join the squad was horrible, glad they dropped it.

Ratz, I thought I was the only one. I often do that, and it was missing in ME2 indeed. Well at least the staring at Liara part.

I found it ten times worse when I was playing through that scene with my Renegade Sheard last night.  Never have I felt such a disconnect from this Shepard character.   She's not shy.  When first walking into Liara's office, what she would do is run up to Liara, pick her up, and twirl her around while kissing her.  Instead, she just stood there like, 'duh'!!!

Plus, my Renegade was impressed with all that Liara was able to accomplish during the past two years.  She's also impressed by her resolve to take down the bad guy (Shadow Broker).  At the same time, she still worries immensly for Liara's safety.  Unfortunately, my poor Shepard couldn't convey any of this in her dialog with Liara.  It was frustrating.

Thats how I felt. The only relief I got was Garrus by my side, was like "at least I still got my best friend with me". *Looks over at other squadmate* Why the hell couldn't you be Liara!? <_<

I want my old team back... :crying:

I'll admit that in every single one of my ME1 playthroughs whenever Liara went down in combat, I'd always reload. The Benezia boss battle was a b!tch, but it was worth it in the end when I reached the end of the game and Liara never died. :D

If they follow the DLC logic they've been following so far, Liara will just throw a quest at you, then it's 55 minutes of shooting stuff and 4 minutes of hacking terminals.

Old team back? Yes, please. I loved in ME1 having Liara and Tali with me everywhere. Tech and a biotic Goddess were the perfect pair to go with my soldier...we kicked all ****.

Now that is dedication to Liara in a way I have never even come close to achieving, although in my playthroughs she rarely died. I just always considered it incapacitated instead of death. This gave me comfort in knowing it was simply a matter of Medigel after combat to remedy the situation. That is how I suspended my belief when she fell in combat, but you sir are committed.
