but we must stay optimistic and think that they could make it good tho...positive thinking people only can save us i think:)

There's no point to remain optimistic (or pessimistic) about a cash-grab movie that has no bearing on the ME story.  I'm just going to start ignoring it's potential existence!  :wizard:

I seriously doubt this movie will ever come to fruitation.IMO, the idea of making the movie will quietly leave as quickly as it came.

It will be your typical white-hetero-male dumb action hero space marine type who sleeps with all the alien chicks.

You forgot the human chicks...

Well, he'll end up in a 'romance' with one of the human chicks (Miranda?) as he can't settle down with an alien chick, who's just there for teh hawt mind secks!!!

He'd probably have an affair with Kelly and Jack though, why not?

Yes, because we all know that every single male protagonist in science fiction is just a gun-toting man-**** with no character whatsoever. Image IPB

You know, if they do a Female Shepard, I'd say the chances are about equal that she would be a cardboard cut-out blonde space marine chick whose character ends at her bustline. If I were to go by you guys' logic.

It seems like it, unfortunately.   It's how they market their 'default' Shepard, at least, and sex sells movies.  You don't think they'll try to go all 'mainstream' with this?

Since its a Hollywood  movie I think we can say for sure that they'll go with default Sehp and 100% Paragon romancing a Human...and there will be need for a romance in the first movie so it will be a Ashley romance.

A friendly reminder from someone who lurks: The Ashley thread was woo'd for talking about the movie too much. Try to keep it linked to Liara if at all possible.

Thanks...Eeek!

I think we were discussing our hopes for some Liara related DLC info coming out at E3 before the movie thing.   I'm a bit hopeful, though it's against my better judgement to be so.  I want something, even if it's a short trailer, or a hint they will be working on it to be released at the end of the year.

I'd say it could go either way. And it's likely that yes, they will probably cast someone like Sam Worthington as Shepard. But I never make assumptions as to a character's moral integrity based on what they look like, male or female. The marketable appearance of the marine look is more flexible, character-wise, than you're giving it credit for. The creators could make Shepard into whoever they want, really.

A trailer or something would be nice. Doubt we will see anything soon yet. Depending if they do have DLC for Liara or not and where it is on the lineup of DLC content they do have planed.  Any proof would be great though I really wish they would toss something out there to show.

I just have no faith they won't go the typical, easy route that would attract the most people.  Movie!Shepard isn't going to be an emotional character, unfortunately, and it seems most movies (especially action ones) adhere to ridiculous gender norms.

Exactly, any acknowledgement, now matter how big, is better than being left in the dark.

EDIT: Hell, even if they finally said "it doesn't exsist", that would be better than being strung along like this.IMO.

Well, then I suppose we simply disagree there. It seems to me, in recent days, movies with flat action hero leads seem to be attracting far less attention than characters with depth. Granted, I don't go to the movies every week, it seems to me that movies with multi-faceted lead characters are attracting the greater audience.

That's the least they can do if they are not planning on making it.  I'd be disappointed, but I'd be happy that I could stop expecting it.

Aye, but can you imagine the fan reaction to a sudden announcement of DLC that they would be releasing in like a week?

Not that I think that's going to happen. There is a place for hype, after all.
