I'm pretty much certain that Liara DLC will be coming. Liara's role in the game was originally alot greater, before they released her story of recovering Shepard's body on a whole different medium. I'm pretty sure hopeful we'll see DLC with Liara as a temporary squadmate, as was originally intended in the game when she accompanied you to take down the SB.

That's something that confuses me, actually.  If she was going to be a temporary squadmate and help take down the SB, what excuse would BW have for leaving her out of the suicide mission after you took the SB down?

The excuse was she had to read through the SB's data to see if she could find any information on the Collectors and how to defeat them. :?

Kind of glad they did drop that part since it was really stupid.

*nods*  Yeah, it seems she would have been able to read up on that data file while on board the Normandy, while you were actually defeating them.

Liara:  "Shepard, I think I've uncovered the key to defeating the collectors!"

Shep:  "That's great, Honey, but we just blew up their base."

Liara:  *Disappointed she wasn't able to help*  "Oh, well, I suppose that's good...did you know they were originally Protheans?!"

Shep:  "Uh...Have I told you how beautiful you are recently?"

Old team back? Yes, please. I loved in ME1 having Liara and Tali with me everywhere. Tech and a biotic Goddess were the perfect pair to go with my soldier...we kicked all ****.

I see someone else used the same setup as me :D

Now that is dedication to Liara in a way I have never even come close to achieving, although in my playthroughs she rarely died. I just always considered it incapacitated instead of death. This gave me comfort in knowing it was simply a matter of Medigel after combat to remedy the situation. That is how I suspended my belief when she fell in combat, but you sir are committed.

Hehe, thanks Delta!

I just wish that in ME2 Shepard would show the same level of love and dedication. Can't wait for the DLC!

Weird..it still blanks the a word if you put dollar signs instead of s's.

"this forum is in open BETA state"...... says for itself on login screen. if i were the one who manages this i'd spend all night to get this done right! [have you noticed that post sometimes doesn't match the style theme?{moves out of frame}]
and responding to question of LD... if i remember right [couple pages back, don't have motivation to click back and re-check] yes..all is quite well, no worries:):)[well except mentioned earlier missing Liara state but i suppose this isn't abnormal here=]]

There is honestly no explaination whatsoever one could come up with that explains Shepard's complete and utter stupidity when meeting her.

I found it ten times worse when I was playing through that scene with my Renegade Sheard last night.  Never have I felt such a disconnect from this Shepard character.   She's not shy.  When first walking into Liara's office, what she would do is run up to Liara, pick her up, and twirl her around while kissing her.  Instead, she just stood there like, 'duh'!!!

Plus, my Renegade was impressed with all that Liara was able to accomplish during the past two years.  She's also impressed by her resolve to take down the bad guy (Shadow Broker).  At the same time, she still worries immensly for Liara's safety.  Unfortunately, my poor Shepard couldn't convey any of this in her dialog with Liara.  It was frustrating.

I know what you mean.
Whenever I walk out of her office I immediately think, "WTF BioWare, she is suffering and all Shep can do is watch her love sit there and suffer".
I play as Paragon most of the time, but I chose some of the Renegade conversation options in the reunion, just so it felt as though Shepard still cared about her well being and wanted her to stop her suicidal mission against the SB. Instead of sitting there and nodding her head like a ******.
One line that bugs me especially in the reunion is when Liara says, "Lets not argue, I don't have enough friends left to loose one". (or something like that) I always feel upset when she calls you a friend, what about her love?

Luckily I have FFXIII coming in a few days.  That should hold me over long enough till we start getting news on if/when we'll get an expansion and see if it is worth caring about.

I was an infiltrator. My team was Liara and Garrus. It was the perfect mix of tech/biotic/combat. All 3 bars were even on the character select screen.

That's one of many examples on why the scene had too much taken out and was very generic. The only LI reaction you get at all was the kiss at the beginning. Everything else was exactly the same. It's not a "rocky" part of the relationship, it just flat out didn't exist.

I always did Liara and Tali or Liara and Garrus no matter what I was.
I got all the squadmate achievements though, so I did Liara plus one other for each individual achievement.

I think it's deliberately left ambiguous like that so that BioWare didn't have to write two different scenes based on whether Liara was your LI or not. It's not that she doesn't love Shepard, as obviously she says the immortal "Because I couldn't let you go..." line later on, it's just the fact that BW didn't want to put in anything unique if she was romanced or not. Sucks.

Don't worry, the DLC will rectify it!

I just hope they don't try to cram "rocky" into the expansion.  We're past that now, lets just move on, forget the "reunion" in ME2 ever happened, and get things back to where they should be.

Also, I used Liara and Tali too. :D

If Liara joins you as a temporary squaddie in the DLC, I plan to use this team again so that it's just like old times. Ah memories....

EXACT SAME  SQUAD AND class AS ME the only weapon i used trough the game was a sniper gun, the rest Liara did for me when i asked her nicely [attack button, while locked on enemy]:)

I'd actually prefer to see the expansion combat missions based around a two man squad.  Just Shep and Liara. I don't need any of these other folks sticking their noses in me and Liara's business.

Agreed Noz. If this fiasco gets fixed, I'm sure nobody will ever bother to mention the ME2 "reunion". I know I won't.

I'll bring Garrus along. He's my favorite non LI character.

I'm part of the Infiltrators United. All my shep's are infiltrators. I've tried some other classes in ME1 and 2 but I just can't get a way from my sniper and cloak. =]

My fave ME1 squad is Liara and Ashley, though I'd have to switch out Ash for a tech person if I was playing an adept. If so, then I'd bring either Kaidan or Tali along with Liara.

Completely agree.
Hey, the people who had the wait the longest for something are usually the happiest in the end.
If we had gotten to take the SB down in ME2 without DLC we would have been left with an even more terrible feeling that the relationship is completely over and Liara is lost forever.
Now since we have to wait, we will get what we wanted in the first place, I am sure of it.
Since Liara is getting her own expansion, maybe BioWare actually does have someone scanning threads about Liara, looking for what people were upset about and what people want. You never know.

It would be cool if they did read the threads like this. You are right though, we're gonna have to wait. Patience is a virtue.
