With any comic set after ME2 that stars Liara, there's no excuse to not include Shepard anymore, and any adventure or mission that Liara would undertake whilst Shepard is alive and while would also be accompanied by Shep. She says so herself in the game, that she'll contact Shep if anything comes up. This time, however, there's no excuse like death that can prevent Shepard from being featured. And any mission Liara will undertake, she'll want Shepard there and to work together again, especially if she's Shepard's lover.
So yeah, I can't realistically see it being Liara again. Perhaps it can star a new character, or perhaps introduce characters that will be new squaddies in ME3? They did the same with Miranda and Jacob in Galaxy.

They could just go with her sources telling Liara that Shepard defeated the Collectors, without going into any detail about it
While Shepard can still fly around,be Cerberus obidient lappdog or whatever and make up something to prevent her from contacting him/her like I dont know shes just "too busy" or play the "moved on" card or even make the renegade jerk canon and just say Shepard was mad at her
Which also makes me wonder if they will do that in the new novell since Anderson seems to feature prominently in it helping whatshername Sanders going after Cerberus with her to find Paul Grayson, that seems not really like something a councilor could do that easily

Nah, I can't see any feasible way they can have Liara as the star of the next comic series, especially as it's set after the events of ME2. The only reason they could realistically have Redemption starring Liara was because Shepard was dead and gone, and Liara had to work alone, so it was easy to fit that story into the comic medium as there was no need to have any player's specific Shepard present.
With any comic set after ME2 that stars Liara, there's no excuse to not include Shepard anymore, and any adventure or mission that Liara would undertake whilst Shepard is alive and while would also be accompanied by Shep. I don't think it's out of the question. After all, while Shepard is going around doing his thing, who's to say she doesn't leave the office to fight the Shadow Broker, or some other Information Broker. So I don't see it as out of the question.
However, most likely the next comic will follow new characters, or the new characters of Mass Effect 3, doing something that's hinting at things to come.

The point I was trying to make though is that there is now no reason to exclude Shepard from Liara's adventure at all. This means that they can't have Liara as the star of the next comic series, as Shepard's presence in whichever mission or adventure Liara undertakes next will mean that it can't be shown in a comic medium. That's the point I was trying to make, to say how unlikely it would be that Liara is the star of the next series of comics.

Eh, I wouldn't mind if we played her in her dlc.
Rather than Liara being a temporary squaddie, perhaps it could alternate between playing as her and playing as Shepard as the pair of them attack the Shadow Broker's base? Interesting.
Naah, I think that Liara v. the Shadow Broker is a ready-made recruitment mission for ME3. There may even be an option to get Liara to spare the Shadow Broker, like you got Garrus to spare Sidonis. Another will be to kill the Shadow Broker yourself. I will take the option where Shepard eats popcorn while Liara pulverizes the Shadow Broker.

What I actually think will happen is that using this DLC that will supposedly bridge ME2 and 3, Ashley, Kaidan and Liara will have their respective story and character arcs that prevented them from rejoining the Normandy resolved, but it won't free them up just yet. Liara may have to tie up a few loose ends on Illium, or dismantle her information network. Ashley or Kaidan may need to finish a mission they're currently on, but all of the ME1 LIs will promise to rejoin Shepard ASAP. That way, they still have recruitment missions for ME3.

I agree this is what will happen with the DLC. I hope we get confirmation soon, I don't even mind having to wait till ME3 I just hope they bring them back

Good fun ain't itjust knocked out Khalisah bint Sinan Al-Jilani (Best. Name. Evar!)
Anybody think it would be a nice touch if she returns in ME3. This however she could be commenting on (if you have one) LI. In liara's case she could say that Shepard have abandond humanity in favor of the asari by the fact that s/he, humanity's champion, might get asari off-spring instead.
Just a small idea I had.
