I'm not sure how much of the ruins/artifacts are still extant but what about the area around the Fertile Crescent? Birthplace of civilization.

And I shall use Tali. At least I don't have to explain why her corpse is recoverable.

If you were to take Liara to visit Earth, where do you think she'd want to visit? Ancient Earth ruins? The mellow and beautiful Mediterranean? Be somewhat restless the entire time, wondering why you couldn't have taken her to Mars instead?

That depends. My canon Shepard is a Spacer, so they would probably both want to see all the historic sites, the roots and achievements of humanity. The same might be true for a Colonist actually.

I always thought it would be perfect for the great finale in ME 3 to play on or near earth. What better personal motivation for Shepard, as well as the player? Could be epic. And then the end, with one option being for Shepard to settle down on earth with his/her LI.

Probably just wishful thinking though, more likely "planet earth" will be just another source of unidentifiable corridors full of crates and enemies.

Take her to Conisborough Castle! :D (A village next to the town I live in) And yeah jtav, use Tali, I don't like her :) I might kill Tali off in the FF I'm writing about my own little character.

On the Samara thread, we were talking about how the Justicar Order might have developed, and I was reading about the asari city-states. It makes me wonder if that is still pretty much how the asari still work, with each pocket of development having its own unique culture, laws, and atmosphere.

It's very possible. Samara talks about the entire village she was forced to kill after Morinth brainwashed them. Sounded like it was a very closed community which allowed Morinth to turn them into followers.

I'm about to go to Illium. Does anyone know how to get Kasumi to talk about Liara if she's your love interest? I don't want to mess it up.

Does she talk about it say after you talk to Liara and immediately go back to the Normandy or can I wait until after I've recruited Samara or Thane?? Hmm...or should I do Miranda's loyalty mission then head back to the Normandy.

Anyone???

she will say somehting about it when you visit her on the observation deck. I don't remember if you need to see Liara first or not, but it could take 4 or 5 sets of visits before you get that comment.

Morning my fellow Liara fans!

I think Liara would love visiting ancient ruins and what remains of ancient human civilisation on Earth. She loves the past, and history in general, and exploring and viewing something like that would be something Liara would enjoy greatly. She's already studied and examined Prothean history, so why not now delve into the history of the species of the person she loves? Perhaps she could discover something that human scientists have missed?

Oh, and I'd totally take her to England to see Stonehenge. :-)

Sounds like grounds for a potential epilogue scene with Liara to me. Ohh, that would be sooo awesome. Image IPB

Ah, good, I was just popping by to see how the Liara discussions were going and I find character bashing is going on. Hooray! [/sarcasm]

Fortunately, not all are engaged in it. Actually, I find the archaeology discussion interesting. It does make sense that Liara would be interested in seeing human archaeological sites, though I imagine most would be excavated by the time that ME rolls along in the 2180s. Still, I've been to a fair number of sites and even excavated sites can be interesting. Stonehenge is a good example (it's amazing how impressive it actually looks in person, pictures simply do not capture it), as others have noted.

I guess the question becomes, what interests Liara most about archaeology. What fascinates her about the Protheans? Knowing that answer would help pinpoint the kind of human site she'd be interested in visiting. Is she interested in the growth of civilizations? Perhaps then ancient Mesopotamia, Mesoamerica, or Egypt would interest her. Catal Huyuk, a pre-civilization settlement, might also interest her.

Personally, I think she seems mostly interested in sudden and mysterious declines. To her, then, the Indus Valley and Mayan civilizations might be of the most interest to her, since both disappeared practically overnight with little clear evidence as to why. The Greek Dark Ages also provide another mystery, though one slightly better illuminated.

It would be interesting  for Liara to return to her research on the Protheans and/or you could aid her in that cause Image IPB

Although humans are pretty well enlightened and knowledgeable regarding it, but perhaps Liara would love to read up and find out about the collapse of the Western Roman Empire? Almost the entire civilisation sacked by barbarian tribes, the decline and end of Roman civilisation as we know it, records kept at the time that suggested alot of Roman writers thought it was the end of the world. Sound familiar?

I actually wonder if Liara's career in archaeology was solely dedicated to finding out the cause and nature of the Protheans' extinction. She seems to have a passionate interest in them in general, but her job seemed to be focused on their extinction in specifically. I hated how we couldn't inform Liara that the Collectors are repurposed Protheans!

I think her main focus was the Protheans , but she may  also had other inerests regarding archaeology.

The (Western) Roman Empire's collapse wasn't quite as dramatic as people often make it sound. It was a long and gradual process of about a century and a half and while the sack of Rome itself (although no longer the capital) was a big deal to be sure, most people went on with life as usual.

Plus, the Eastern Roman Empire continued to exist for another thousand years.

Hadn't occured to me but, yes, that would have been a nice detail, given how much the Protheans mean to her. Of course, you might not know when you meet her on Ilium, but it wouldn't be too hard to program around that.

Good morning everyone.

I think Liara is interested in archaeology in general. She just focused on the Protheans because they were a mystery for so long and she wanted to prove to everyone that even though she was young, she knows what she's doing. Now that that mystery is solved, there will be other things to look at (after the SB, of course).

I'd love for her to study the Western Roman Empire, because that would mean she had to come and study the ruins in the city I live - which would be totally awesome :-)

I agree with this. I could have swore that she said her main interest in the Protheans was their extinction event. I could be wrong but doesn't she say something along the lines of, "I have spend the last 50 years of my life trying to find out what happened to them" and " they have left remarkably little behind, almost as if someone had came and removed all evidence after they had gone". Or something to that effect.

EDIT: Of course she doesn't out right say it, its more reading between the lines.

Although, I think she is definetly interested in the field of archaeology in general(no doubt about that). And I have no doubts she would love the chance to explore human civilizations. I think the focus on extinction may have been more of a percise varient of her field.
