Indeed. I still maintain that dialogue path was easy to miss for a reason, and that we're not actually supposed to find it as Liara's guilt, emotional pain, the romance and Shepard properly comforting her will be tackled in the DLC.

Wether or not they intended to have us find it, they added it. And when you add something, try not to make it suck.

Sadly that happens alot in ME2.

The dialogue for Shepard needs to be extented i noticed that every other person you mee tin the game has 3 lines at the max of dialogue and shepard has about 1 during most conversations.

I'll think most of the conversations are fine. It's just that ME2 desperartly needs a conversation that focuses on SHEPARD not his crewmates, Kelly would have been perfect to be the one to ask Shepard how he feels.

Yeah, that's what I think. It's a contrived way of maintaining the status quo of Liara being incredibly troubled and tormented, and why Shepard is as emotional as a pile of bricks during Liara's ME2 scenes, especially when she opens her heart.

One thing that have always bothered me about the Liara haters is that hey claim that "Liara does not care all at!"

No.

Shepard does not care.

Is it me, or do I rant all the time I enter this thread?

Shepard doesn't care...Shepard doesn't seem to care much about what happens in ME2. 'Brought back from the dead!? Don't care!!!' 'Old friends are upset with you?! Don't care!'

Shepard has always been , which is what Bioware intended. Because I am a good roleplayer, my emotions are Shepards, when Liara confessed what she did I felt sad inside, even if Shepard was

Shepard does not care about anything really. I can take many moments in mE and ME2 where he

However he does have a shock face when he finds out he died and was brought back. "Did you say two years?"

Well, yeah, when she confessed her feelings I felt like :crying: but my Shepard was like  and then I felt like :pinched: .

Are you sure this is what was intended?  I thought this was supposed to be a 'third-person cinematic' experience.  I guess I don't mind it as much in DA:O, as your PC is silent.

In Bioware's defence. The fact that Shepard has 2 voice actors means that if they are gonna give people larger amount of reactions to choose from they will have to make alot more work. Also consider the fact that some people would be whinning if Shepard constantly showed emotions.

But Bioware could have sneaked around all of this if they just gived Shepard a locker scene.

Well you are Shepard, lets say one Shepard does not care for Liara at all, but Shepard does hsow emotions, the player will not be happy, thus they do that. I don't mind Shepard being  all the time because I am good at taking a role and putting my emotions into them.

Alternate suicide mission dialog after Human-Reaper falls and Shepard makes his decision to TIM:

Garrus: how do we get down from here Shepard?

Miranda: I was wondering that my self

*soon as miri finishs talking, an explosion happens underneath,
rocking the platform and causing the scene to play that happens when
you kill the Human-Reaper. Just like normal, you pick up the ruble and
if Garrus and Miri are loyal, they survive.

Garrus: Ugh that hurt

Shepard: Are you guys all right?

Miranda: I think so, but we need to get to the Normandy fast

*They look behind them and see the Human-Reaper in ruins, Shepard gives a glare and joker radios in*

Joker: Shepard are you there, answer me.

Shepard: I am here, we are coming, lets move.

*Shepard, Miri and Garrus run and come in froint of a huge door where any of the surviors are located waiting to get through)

Shepard: What the hell are you guys still here for?

Mordin: There seems to be a huge door, this causes a problem.

Sheard: Joker, we need this door taken down.

EDI: The door will be open in five minutes, I advise you b-

*EDI is cut off and a door in front of them opens, a lot of
Collectors are are walking in with a Harbinger controlled Collector
leading them)

Harbinger: Before I tear you apart Shepard, it’s time we talked.

*Shepard gives Miri a wink so she knows to be ready in case*

Shepard: What do you want to say? That you are attempting genocide? That you killed thousands of innocents?

Harbinger: We do this so you can bask in the glory, we are ascending you to godhood, the ultimate existence.

Shepard: How ais liquidating people good, how is turning people into a human-Reaper, what is the point of it?

Harbinger: Don’t you know? Ah course not, you don’t know the might
of us, us that you call us Reapers. We are not only ships, there are
many of us, I might be a ship and the leader of us but we do need
ground reapers.

Shepard: So you decided to make a Human-Reaper because I blew up your buddy Soverign into bits

*Harbinger points his hand and begins to yell*

Harbinger: You human do not talk about our dead vanguard that way,
my brother that way. You might have destroyed our project, as you are
still alive and we will use you for our needs.

Shepard: You will never defeat us, I defeated one of you before and I will do it again.

Harbinger: Your words are full of fear, your death is coming.

*Soon as that happens, Shepards gives a order and Miri kills the
controlled Reaper and Shepard runs to cover, then it goes to gameplay
and this is the final part of the game. You must hold the line for five
minutes as Collectors, Harbingers, Husk, Abominations and three Scions,
when it is time to go you then have to choose to stay behind, keeping
the bad guys back and sacrificing there life, it’s a choice between
Miri, Jacob, Jack, Zaeed or Kasumi. You then run to the ship with the
others, Harbinger gives his same final speech like in the game, the
ship leaves and the conversation with TIM. After that you look at the
memorials of the dead and if you have a lI, they stand beside you and
confront you. Then the game on like it normally does, however when you
get he datapad*

Shepard: Is this the data EDI managed to mine from the Collector ship

Joker: I believe so, is that Harbinger?

Shepard: It must be.

*Shepard goes to the window, looks out, then shifts to Harbinger leading the Reapers, game ends*

Thats what Bioware should have done after you decide to keep the base or not. No baby Reaper battle :wizard:

I just think it's horribly contrived when Liara opens her heart to Shepard, reveals all of her feelings of guilt, fear and pain, how she's been tormented emotionally and self-loathing for two long years, all because of Shepard. What does she then do after Liara opens up? Talk about the mission. That's terrible, especially if Liara is Shepard's LI. No intimacy, no comfort or consoling? It's bad.

As I've said though, I theorise that the player is not really supposed to find that, as Liara opening up and the romance and everything will be tackled in the DLC. They just had to put something in there so that Liara didn't give Shepard the cold shoulder completely.

I'm good at that too...I just worry that I will put the 'wrong' emotions into it and then something that happens later will contradict them.  I do know that my Shepard feels :crying: through my RP'ing of her, but she doesn't show it to Liara and says something like 'my mission is important'.    Shepard's actions (or inactions) are the problem then, not lack of feeling.

While it certainly would be a better alternative to the baby-reaper battle. Can't exactly see what it have to do with my complaint about the lack of a "locker" scene.

Ya I can see that being a problem, but as I said some players might not be sad about Liara and having Shepard say something touching would ****** off those players, thus they don't do it because every Shepard is unique to the player. I don't think anyone has the same Shepard, each one is unique.
