I agree with Les....the meeting is very 'business-like' and most of that is due to Shepard's dialog being limited to simply asking how Liara's 'own work' is going.  As I've mentioned before, Shepard getting angry at Liara is the only way to add some emotion into the scene, unfortunately.

No, of course not. That's an exagerration. I'd want to ask Liara something a little more personal, romantic and intimate than "How's your own work going?". I want to be a little more caring and compassionate, but not in a Renegade, jerkass, foot-stomping way. I want to actually ask Liara something intimate, and not get all pissy just because Liara answers Shepard's questions, questions that are little more than entirely professional and business like, as Shepard answers them. What does Shepard expect Liara to say when the romance is also completely ignored on Shepard's part?

My point is, I want to show Liara I care in a more considerate and supportive manner. Ask her properly how she's feeling, what's wrong, what's bothering her. Not be a douchey Renegade jerkass stamping my feet and throwing toys out of pram. You can RP your Shepard that way, that's great. I don't want to, however. I'd prefer to treat her with a little more dignity and respect.

But I don't think it's ignored, or renegade. It's realistic. Neither one knows how to talk about it. How would you? Shepard's been out of her life for 2 years, and Liara is a completely different person then the one he fell in love with. They don't know how to talk about it because they don't even know how to bring it up. They don't even know kissing each other is even ok. And being in a relationship shouldn't mean never getting angry with the person you love. Think of it like how a dad yells at his daughter for going out with the drug dealer. There's no dignity or respect around that. You either ignore it, or yell at her because you don't like it, and doing so because you care. Liara is threatening to skin people alive with her mind, and asks you to break the law, and help her kill someone, or you learn nothing.

Sorry, I'm not buying that. There are clear dialogue choices that are missing in Liara's ME2 scenes. Don't say that the way that you RP your Shepard is "right" or "correct". Comforting, supportive and considerate dialogue on Shepard's behalf is sorely lacking in Liara's ME2 scenes. Doesn't matter if you think what Liara is doing is disgusting or whatever, that's your own subjective opinion and shouldn't be forced onto other players.

Plus your interpretation of Liara breaking from the kiss and acting somewhat distant is vastly different from mine, which actually has evidence backing it up in game when Liara finally opens up. Your's isn't any more "correct" than anybody else's.

They give you two options. Ignore what she's doing, and saying you're ok with it, or complain. You don't want to complain?

Also, that's only 2 dialogue options. Obsessed and Garbage. That's not a lot, and I find them exactly what I'd be thinking if this is what I'm seeing her doing.

Second, how long does Shepard get that answer for your reason? 2 assignments later. That's a while of not knowing anything, which can be missed.

Two things; What's wrong with giving people what they want. After all if you've played through a game and a half with an LI preference haven't you already made your statement/ choice ?

Saying that's what people want but don't do is only partially correct because people  do act just as I've described, I'm guilty of it myself

Well, I'm not, or trying not to say that. I more of meant, sometimes what people want isn't what they should get, because getting everything ruins drama. Drama is caused by wanting something you can't have, but wanting it anyways, and fighting for it. If you could have her then and there, it'd be less rewarding in ME3, where she cannot believe you couldn't let her go, and after all that time and pain, and on the eve of a dooms day battle.

Also, what I meant by "people want but don't do", I mean sometimes people think they're going to do something, but when the time comes, 9/10 they don't, and hate it.

See your point, don't disagree but I do think BW could have handled it better with less ambiguity and more of an acknowledgment of an LI status. The way it was done was bizarre. "And that's why I have to go after the Shadow Broker" ????? WTF
I think there's a line where you're creating drama with doubt and just being absurd and it seems to me BW took a step over the line. Was disappointment their goal ? If so then they were succesful

I agree that drama is great and you shouldn't always get what you want, I just wish they had handled that aspect better.
