Well at least the reunion scene should be much more fulfilling this way. I mean most of the time our Sheps didnt show much reaction to being rezzed by the kriffing enemy. Esp since all of my Sheps absolutely airlock TIM without a 2ed thought.

No, I don't want to complain and throw a hissy fit. I'd prefer to be supportive, and more considerate and caring. You're able to RP and select the dialogue choices you want, that's fine. But why aren't I and many others able to do the same? That's all I'm asking for. A more Paragon, supportive dialogue choice in order to express worry and concern for Liara, not mere jerkass Renegade or bland neutral. That's what I'm complaing about, the lack of choice.

You're able to select the dialogue choices you want. That's cool. But myself and many other Liara fans are prevented from making the dialogue choices that we want to. We're not given the option.

haha yeah the only way it seems is to remain silent or renegade not really a great paragon path in regards to anything we can say to Liara. The simple fact they seem to dodge on purpose, only guess being that as we all have guessed leads to DLC or ME3. Still what little we are able to do really sucks b/c we can't even really tell her how a "paragon" Shepard would feel and want to say to Liara. As Les says can't do much to comfort her and let her know that we understand completely and are always here for her. I also wish they would have done a better job in creating this part, maybe with "fingers crossed" we will see it made right with some good DLC and or in ME3. I remain confident that ME3 will be done right and Liara will be back on the Normandy and as a LI.

In other Liara-related news - I've actually started sketching that drawing I mentioned a while ago with Liara on an archaelogical expedition - so keep your eyes out for that.

Whenever any of you read the fic, please tell me what you think of it.

Not so much writing-wise, but the actual content. I really want this to be a fic to lift the spirits of the Liara-fanbase, while also working with what Bioware's given us in ME2 - so any advice/suggestions are welcome

Well, I've just read all three chapters, MDK, and I really enjoyed it! Your differing take on the destruction of the Normandy and Shepard's death was very interesting, as was the elaboration of Shepard's funeral, told by Garrus. Hearing how Liara, torn by grief, lashed out at Ashley was particularly heartwrenching. Also, the final two paragraphs of Chapter 3, with the contrast of what Shepard expects Liara to be doing, and the actual reality, was very effective and really drove home the point as to how much everything has changed, for Liara in particular.

Great work! Looking forward to reading more!

Hopefully there'll be a surprise or two in store for you later......I got a few plot ideas I haven't seen done before, nor have I mentioned them on here - so hopefully this fic will keep you guys guessing once the plot really starts moving.

Once the main plot it slightly further along, I'll actually be doing a oneshot showing the funeral mentioned in that fic. That may be what you're looking for :happy:

Still, you need something to explain that. But then again it's a fanfic, so it doesen't have to follow the game 100%.

I don't think it's there because that's not the point. The point is you're bring treated like just another guy, while your girlfriend is becoming something horrible. Being understanding to what Liara's doing is like being understanding with someone with a drug addition, and ignoring you as a person. Understanding mean allowing them to keep doing it with no complains. Also, what's jack ass about:

"Damn it Liara, I came to talk to you. Not to help you with your petty vendettas."

Drama is caused by wanting something you can't have, but wanting it anyways, and fighting for it. Yeah, I agree and hate it too. I get what they were trying to do, support the idea. They want to keep her off the ship, and give you the feeling that some characters have turned into completely different people. You're at odds with your LI, and maybe have arguement with her. You may even believe your LI is lossed beyond repair. But the end result feels bull****, and feels forced and rushed.

The Virmire survivor will make an appearance in my fanfic aswell. Since it's based on my Shepard, it will be Ashley. Also due to my Spacer "origin" Shep's mother will also be in it. The way I have the plot in mind will make conversations with both of them very interesting :-)

Right, I'm starting work on Chapter 4 right now.

It's probably going to be a bit controversial, considering this fic is all about Shepard and Liara - but I'm actually going to skip the reunion scene in ME2.

I don't want to copy it word for word, and I know that when I start writing my own dialogue, I could unintentionally change the tone of the scene. And as the annoyance at Liara's ME2 role is something I want to draw on for inspiration, I don't want to risk writing a scene that doesn't.....well.....do her injustice justice, so to speak...

I don't think that was Les's point. The fact is she's obviously hurt and full of dread over what happened with Shepard, and she thinks that her actions now will justify what she had done with the corpse. Being a dick to her is not going to help, treating her like a child or an addict is not the path many people here want to take with her. The thing is, I'm not justifying her actions, but would it really be so hard to have a paragon option in which we can tell her we love her, or that we'll be back for her? No, it wouldn't, instead we get neutral Shepard and Douchebag Shepard.

EDIT: And I don't think  "becoming something horrible" is the best way to describe her.

Meh! The ME2 reunion scene didnt have much going for it. Actually I found the hug she gives to a friendship Shepard to be more heartwarming.
