I keep Liara (and the other squad mate) back in the very first room you enter from so they do not shoot or fling around hostages. Turning squad power usage to 'off' or 'defense only' will help.

Ash shoot at nothing
Kaidan would stop moving
Tali and Garrus shot at walls and box's
Wrex would run by enimies, not even shooting at them

I have this problem with zaeed in ME2. its alway's on the garrus recruitment .

Wrex prefers a shotgun most of the time...so you have to make sure you limit the cool down time on it.



I try to keep my squad in front of me though, which limits friendly fire. Not too far though, especially Liara since she is not a soldier...remember she has no weapon skills which could explain why she shoots everywhere.

it has nothing to do with the cool down, I sawh im never take a shot but run by them and not even shoot. It's the AI. Also what I do is I let them stay in the entrance room, then I jut go in and kill everyone and all hostages live

I never found that any of my squadmates shot at the hostiages , i used the stun grenades and only had to kill one of them

I found that my squadmates never shot the hostages directly, but they often got caught in explosives or crossfire from the terrorists trying to shoot my squaddies.

So I always made sure I closed the door behind me before they could follow me, making sure they never got involved in the fight.

But back to Liara - I was always a little baffled by some of the generic combat dialogue that all the squadmates said - hearing Liara say "Kill them all!" was a little odd...

I've actually only done this mission once because its assigned right as im about to go to illoes to finish the game but I don't remember having too much trouble with this mission. then again I alway's have there skill usage on "off" so they don't do anything with out my telling them to.

I just keep my squad in the entrance room, go inside, get some attention from the bad guys but don't shoot, and then lend them back to the entrance, away from the hostages.

The "husk" like creatures you encounter are just annoying lol , when your trying to blow out a singularity and your getting slapped its annoying heh

What mission is that with the hostages? You aren't talking about the mission with the Thorian, right? Because there you can tell your crew to spare them at the beginning, and they will not shoot at them.

husks are annoying period in ME1. there still annoying in ME2 but at least there a lot more easy to kill. 

but i alway's bring liara when dealing with things like husks. that singularity has saved me so many times.

husks are annoying period in ME1. there still annoying in ME2 but at least there a lot more easy to kill.

Ya but there's more of them in ME2 and they are like a swarm.

I did't cheat, I just used a glitch in the game, thats not cheating....
