I think fanart and fiction is what's keeping alot of the Liara fanbase going at the moment. Almost every single thread of discussion regarding Liara has been exhausted, and consequently everything is slowing down.

If and when we get the DLC news, though, this place will explode.

Looks like they want to lightend the mood in ME3. And apperently ME2 had a far greater emphasis on romance than ME1!

Ultimately our highest level goal is to make a game that's really fun, both to people who have and haven't played our games before.

This. Is. Not. Good.:?

I know...that could be many many months away though :crying:

At least I'll have time to get some Liara-inspired work accomplished!  I still want to get my drawing done by next week!

Eeeek!!

this could work out for the good as well. doesn't really mean one way or another. Some things he said in the small interview made me more confident and some did the opposite, but still my hope remains! ^_^

If you haven't played either game we
still want you to be able to play Mass Effect 3.

Sigh.

That Interview sure didnt help to get my hopes for ME3,more "darkness" makes me wonder if we get more "grimdark" Liara acting "mob boss"style in the end, also in terms of an ending it could mean they do the good old "hero sacrifices him/herself to save the day" thing

I dont know when Bioware started to get so obsessed with "darkness",but it gets annoying

Also all in all it is the usual PR garbage not saying that much at all

*gulp* Looks like I was right to lowball my expectations re: returning squadmates. Try not to be too gleeful when it's our turn to gnash our teeth, eh?

He actually contradicted himself in one single answer. He said that ME3 would see a shift back toward being more light-hearted, before then saying expect more darkness.

Just give me Liara in a well-written squadmate role and romance and I'll be happy.

I can't wait to taunt all the ME2 squadmember fans! HAHAHA:devil::devil:!!!

Jokes aside. I personally believe that SOME of the ME2 cast members will return (Tali, Garrus and Miranda atleast). Hopefully some will get the cameo they deserve, but I doubt all will get cameo'd.

Nah, don't worry. I actually feel for alot of the ME2 squaddie fans, and I'd never want them to suffer through what the Ashley, Kaidan and Liara fans did.

It'd actually be worse for you, though, as at least us Liara fans have another game to look forward too...

Well when it comes to ME2 romances I would say their fans can consider themselves lucky if they are treated as more then just a fling beyond that I fear it will be meaningless cameos all the way, even though I would like to have some questions answered about them like who Mirandas father is for example, but I guess they will even make up excuses for those that actually have no reason to leave so they can kick them out like Garrus for example

I won't be, but there will be some fans out there who will...just be prepared.

But if ME3 is a 'new' experience for people who didn't play the first two, this does not bode well for many of the former squad mates.

One thing that I do wonder is the manner in which they're going to carryover and continue both games' sets of romances into ME3.

At the end of ME2, the ME1 and ME2 romances are both at vastly different points. How will, say, Liara's romance and Miranda's romance both carryover and continue into ME3? They're both going to have to be so different.

Easy...... they won't carryover!

Well at the moment my money when it comes to Liara Ash/Kaidan is on they will just reset the whole thing an run the same routine as in the first two games a few dialogues and a scene before the final battle, that is if they are squadmates

If they are cameos again then it will be a few extra lines and done

When it comes to ME2 romances well as said above,in the worst case they treat them as flings and therefore no significant impact will be presented or if not I guess we're in for short cameos with a few extra lines if romanced and maybe an email

I also dont really believe in "dire" consequences for cheating my guess at that is we might get a few angry lines and the betrayed will go on in normal mode, also dont be suprised if they throw the next bunch of new romances at us

More than likely there won't be much for the ME2 romances except for the end cs? the ME1 romances will be brought about with a mission or event, then have the cs at the end as well. Easy but a bad way of doing it. I hope they work hard into both the ME1 and ME2 relationships, and not go about it sloppy like. As long as they bring Liara back as LI and squaddie along with her being well written I will be ok, but I don't want any other ppl who like other characters to get screwed like the ME1 romance ppl did.

I'm actually thinking it makes it seem a little bleak for the ME2 LI fans. With Ashley, Kaidan and Liara they can easily write a "re-romance". The ME2 LIs, however? They can't do so.

Yeah, that interview only confirms what I already expected. Looks ever more likely that I won't be buying ME 3 then. I know many people are unhappy with the direction ME 2 took, and with the direction that obviously ME 3 will take, but I wonder how many will actually make the step to vote with their wallet. I'm realistic enough to know that it won't be many, and that those are considered acceptable losses in comparison to the newly attracted "fans", but that doesn't influence my decision.
